"We stayed in a 1 bedroom canal view space. Very comfortable and good space to spread out after a long day of exploring the city. There's no a/c, which we knew prior to our stay. Thankfully there was a fan provided which made a world of difference in the comfort level. Be sure to use it in the summer! The kitchen could have used a few more supplies such as mixing bowls, measuring spoons/cups, and a spatula but we were able to manage with what was provided.
The tram was a short walk away and we...
"Very lively area with lots of cafes and restaurants, shops and supermarket close by. Well located. Stairs are challenging for older guests but it’s an old building so to be expected. Staff very helpful with check in and carried bags upstairs which was much appreciated after a very long flight."
"This was a superb boutique hotel for us to stay in. It was quiet and had all the amenities we needed. Lighting was excellent in the room, and all aspects of the room worked well. Staff was friendly and helped in whatever ways we needed. We would stay here again!"
"If you are not wanting the usual bland chain style big hotels then the Hotel Craftsmen boutique hotel is a must for your Amsterdam visit. Wonderful hotel built in1652 with different themed rooms. We were in the Cartographer. Due to it being a very old building it has a wonderful steep narrow spiral staircase which adds to the charm. The history timeline is illustrated on the walls of the stairwell which is cool. The rooms and public spaces are wonderfully decorated and the breakfast is simply...
"I loved this property, the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. My room was clean and spacious. The views from my room were amazing!! The little extra touches liked the mini Stroopwaffles everyday in a jar and also these wonderful jellied candies. I looked forward to returning every evening to those sweet offerings. Inwill definitely return again and again!!"
"Great hotel! We’ve stayed at Kimptons before and love the amenities — and this one in Amsterdam was no different! We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we visited the bar quite a bit for some great cocktails, and participated in the hotel happy hour one night before heading to dinner. The rooms were nice — not a ton of counter space in the bathroom or places to put products in the shower area, though. The neighborhood the hotel is in wasn’t a happening / trendy neighborhood or anything but it was...
"Loved this area and the hotel was great. Close to public transit, quieter and residential. All staff were friendly and helpful. Would love to stay again! "
"We loved the friendliness and relaxed atmosphere of Mr Jordaan. The canal-side setting is peaceful and beautiful, just a few minutes walk from bars and cafes. The room had everything we needed for our 3 night stay and the staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful at all times. A cool hotel, we loved it! "
"Apart from a small mishap with the toilet that was fixed quickly and effciently, this place and the photos on Hotels.com does not do it justice, the hotel room is clean, fresh with all the ammenities you need. Central to one of the main streets where you have all you need not to mention an amazing view of the canal. No bad comments at all. Excellent place excellent service excellent stay."
"Extremely clean, quiet, and very comfortable, although small, room. Not a full service hotel, but easy access to many restaurants and activities. Highly recommend. "
"The room is clean with a lovely theme. The staffs were amazing. The location is in the middle of all shops and restaurants (also 8 mins walk from central station). If I visit Amsterdam again I’d definitely book this hotel. Highly recommended :)"
