"I really enjoyed my stay at Ashbourne House! The room was very comfortable and bright, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great too -- a lovely walk along the river away from the bustling city centre. "
"The host was very kind and helpful. The Barbican is located just outside the wall, which is brilliant, as inside the walls is quite noisy until very late. We would definitely stay here again!

"What a lovely little guest house within walking distance to York city centre. Danielle was a lovely host who made sure everything was in order for us. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the fact that parking is included makes this place good value for money. The only thing worth noting is that the loft room is up 3 sets of stairs (the last one being a little steep) so bear that in mind if you have luggage or if you plan on doing the climb up the York Cathedral Tower tour...
"Great hotel, great location, fantastic breakfast and staff. Only downside but wouldn’t stop us going back is the road noise from in the front rooms. "
"Although you do have to spend £10 for car parking, you do get breakfast, a swimming pool and steam room, thrown in. Creaky floors, but room very comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful.
Would stay here again, which is always the best recommendation. "
