"The neighborhood is TERRIBLE!! My car was broken into the first night and left with thousands of dollars in damage. The hotel was of no assistance at all. Loudest hotel I've ever stayed in. The street noise was unbearable. We had a drunk blaring music across the hall from us until 5 in the morning and the most the front desk would say was that they were aware. Terrible beds with nasty looking sheets. Nothing looks crisp and clean. That's the best way I can describe it. Not out right nasty, but not clean. The toilet clogged constantly from just using the one ply toilet paper. The hotel towels were nasty, random, discolored, scratchy things you'd get at your granny's house. NO soap in the shower, and when I asked for some, he seemed put out, but said he could bring me "a cup of soap" because the dispensers wouldn't arrive for a few days. He did end up bringing me a soap dispenser. NO housekeeping for a 3 night stay!!! No lighting, outlets, phone, ANYTHING you'd expect in a normal hotel room at this price point. TV is Roku only that you must submit with your own info. Basically DO NOT STAY HERE"

"The Moxy is a self-serve type of hotel that looks and feels fairly new. The staff are friendly and helpful. The amenities were well-maintained. The rooms are clean albeit small, and better for single travelers. This is good for travelers in small groups looking for a convenient, clean, and "to-go" hotel close to Crypto.com Arena in the heart of downtown LA"

"Floor had a very strange smell. No windows opened so no fresh air or vents in room. Staff were very helpful. Area a bit dead but close to 2 metro lines."

"The amenities fee doesn't show up on the Expedia price- $35 a day extra and quite a bit of LA hotel taxes will be added to your bill. The property was very clean, but it's an apartment like an airbnb- no room service, no restaurant, housekeeping once a week so no new towels, no extra blankets. There's dishes and a toaster and microwave, stove, big fridge, etc- dish soap and dishwasher soap but no dish sponge or dish towel. Definitely do the self park or park across the street for $10. There was A LOT of partying going on, the people downstairs and one apartment over had a huge fight at 1 in the morning for 1/2 an hour and their dog was barking the whole time. Downtown LA is kind of sketchy- I don't think I'd bring kids here expecting a beach vacation. Stay closer to the beach. It's more for adults working in downtown LA longterm. I would come back when I have work downtown again. The views were INCREDIBLE."
