"Our family stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu for half our vacation and the other half at the Sheraton in Coconut Beach. Overall we preferred the Sheraton. At the Sheraton we had bigger and newer rooms, with a much better ocean view, at half the price. Sure, the grounds at the Grand Hyatt are nicer, and there are more pools, a slide, and a "lazy river". But the place is just too big. It takes too long to get to your room, the pools, your car. Making it less relaxing and more of a planned chore. The Sheraton felt more "intimate" and relaxed. The ocean is way closer to the rooms, so you get the nice breezes and sound of the waves. They don't charge you for every little thing the Grand Hyatt does. The food was better. Lastly, there was a notable difference in the staff. Except the person who checked us in, almost every other staff member we ran into at the Grand Hyatt seemed unhappy to be working there. At the Sheraton, they all seemed to be working together like a family. Laughing and enjoying their job, which was confirmed by the multiple ones we asked. Our server, Kaisha, at The Crooked Surf was excellent. "

"The property was in a great location. Our room was recently renovated and clean. While the rooms are not ocean view, the Lava Lava restaurant is right on the ocean with great views of the surrounding mountains. The only negatives of the stay were insufficient parking (but valet service was available) and there is no elevator."

"This resort was absolutely breathtaking! I wasn’t expecting this when we drove up to the property! Everything you need is within arms reach! If what you want isn’t directly on the property or across the street at the market, downtown is within walking distance. The beaches will leave you stunned and the staff are amazing! It is so serene and beautiful here! You are doing yourself and family a disservice by not booking here! Stop wondering where to stay, stay here!"

"The pool is amazing. Very family oriented resort. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Nice BBQ grill areas. Probably the best place to stay with a family on the island. They have a beach area and there is always a lounge chair available. It is located between the North and South side of the island which is the perfect location. I thought about staying on the South side next time, but I think this place probably has the best pool area on the island. They have a restaurant on-site as well. I do wish it was in an area that was a little more lush, but it is like its own little world. I would highly recommend it. "

"Very friendly staff and wonderful clean room. Very spacious and had a very close path nearby to the ocean. We enjoyed our annv/ honeymoon and can’t wait to celebrate again hopefully next year. "
