Amazing place that really will make you smile. Most comfortable bed our whole trip. Just a short walk off the Camino and worth every step. Great hospitality and welcome from Fernando. Beautiful and delicious breakfast…and a few treats to take with you on your walk. Comfortable and beautiful room. We would come back in a heartbeat!

The perfect stay

Smiling Places is the most incredible guest house; Elizabeth and Fernando the most wonderful and kind hosts. We were walking the Camino with our children - weary from a long walk - and this was a perfect stop. Washing machine is excellent. Breakfast was plentiful. Beds very comfortable.

Very friendly staff! Welcoming and helpful, and were even able to accommodate my wife's gluten intolerance on very short notice (we didn't expect gluten-free bread at all, as there were plenty of alternative options in the expansive breakfast offerings already!)

I stayed here after walking through a coastal storm from Porto on my 60th birthday! The owner greeted me with a tiny little cake and a candle, sang happy birthday and introduced me to Ginja. It doesn’t get any better than that! She has a washer and dryer and a nice breakfast. She’s awesome!

Of 15 nights on the Camino, this was absolutely the BEST stay my 14-year-old daughter and I had! Elisabete is phenomenal! Our room was beautifully decorated along with the attached bath. Everything spotless. Elisabete was so welcoming and caring! Amazing breakfast and genuine Portugal hospitality! Don't look elsewhere! Book this incredible stay!

The host, Elisabete welcomed me like a friend. I loved staying here so much. It was my last night in Portugal and she made me wish I stayed there the whole time. Comfortable, clean, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. I have never felt so welcome. I will be back!

Above & beyond!!!

This was an amazing experience!! I can’t say enough about how it exceeded our expectations! The host goes above & beyond to make you comfortable and happy!! She even helped other travelers find a place to stay because she didn’t have rooms available:) every detail is thought out with great care & love!! I would recommend booking in advance because this place is definitely worth the trip!
