The gate code was illegibly written so it took us ten minutes to decipher and get through the gate. Five minutes before check-out time someone banged on the door like the building was on fire. "Young and very polite French lady on reception spoke English. Any criticism is our own fault. We paid for the lowest price room which didn’t include air conditioning. Just check you are paying enough for your room to include it if you want it. USB charging ports weren’t available. Top tip though. Most TVs have USB ports which you can use to charge your phones."

"Small rooms…little room for two suitcases. Basic but adequate breakfast. Easy location…easier to drive to town center. Good for night before WWII beaches. AC not very strong. Noise could be heard from outside hotel (guests watch TV, horses at vet clinic) and inside (kids on a field trip enjoying the next room over!) Adequate, but nothing special."

"No air conditioning. Convenient location across from Caen station, but lots of loitering and noise. No staff on site after 11pm, which really makes you wonder about safety and support. Not ideal if you’re looking for a comfortable or reassuring stay."
