We booked this hotel for our anniversary expecting a luxury experience, and while our room was comfortable, the pool area was beautiful, and the front desk staff were kind and helpful, the overall stay fell far short of the price point. Our experience at the Gastrobar terrace completely ruined the trip, the service was atrocious, we were repeatedly ignored, and when I asked for a menu, I was rudely told to sit back down. On one evening, a waiter named Juan Carlos actually scolded us in Spanish for joining two small tables together, which was a deeply uncomfortable and threatening experience. To make matters worse, the food quality was poor. Dishes were consistently over or undercooked, portions were tiny, and the lack of flavor left us hungry throughout our stay despite spending hundreds of dollars. Even basic items like the dinner bread were rock hard and clearly stale. Because the Gastrobar terrace is the only outdoor dining option (the alternative being a windowless indoor dining room), you are forced to deal with the rude afternoon and evening servers. There’s no restaurants accesible in the surrounding area.
