This Ryokan was absolutely perfect. Train station literally across the street. Quiet area and the property itself was spectacular. Rooms were spacious, food was delicious. Also, onsen near the lake was peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here.

The service was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a positive experience. The only reason for putting 4 stars is that the bathroom in our room had a strong ammonia smell. Also, as a heads up, I went with my elderly mother and the building had steep stairs to get to the bath and dining, and the room was not exactly barrier free and we tripped over a couple of times (We didn't think much of it at the time of booking, so it's our fault) Otherwise, it was a great!

紅葉の頃にまた訪れたい

宿はやや古く老朽感は否めないが、この古さも逆にレトロな感じで懐かしさや郷愁を感じる。 なにせ部屋の眼前に豊富な水量で岩間をながれる鳳来峡が美しくロケーションはとても良い。 特に紅葉の頃は最高ではないかな。

静かな山奥の 素敵なお宿

40年来の親友と 大学時代の思い出深い飯田線で旅しよう！と 湯谷温泉を選びました。ネットでは分かりにくいけど、口コミが良かった宿を選びました。 外観は古いけど 昭和レトロな内装と、清潔な施設内、気取らない雰囲気、静かで温かな方々のサービス、生花がかわいくあちこちに飾られて 細かな気遣いを感じました。窓や露天風呂からの川の風景に 日常を忘れます。20分くらい歩いた 山深い中にある ハーブやアロマを作っている蒸留所は 素敵でした。

古いまさにザ旅館 こじんまりと風情があり、窓からの景色もよい。 ほたるの季節は無料バスでほたるの見学ツアーもあり。 ゆったりしたいならおすすめです。
