Heralded as one of the island's loveliest viewpoints in my Bradt travel guide, Miradouro de Santa Iria can be found along São Miguel's northern coastline, just east of Ribeira Grande.

You can definitely see for miles and I quite like the effect the late afternoon sun creates.

One of the 2 tea plantations in all of Europe. Both are on this island. The only plantations in the world not using fertilizers or pesticides
