"I highly recommend people to stay at the St. James Hotel! If you’re looking for a basic amenity hotel room to crash at night and explore the city all day, THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU!! I traveled to nyc to be out and about all day and come back to the hotel late to sleep. I don’t want to stay at a chain hotel and pay hundreds of dollars for 20 million amenities that I’m not going to use. The staff at the hotel are incredibly nice and helpful from the minute you check in, during your stay, to when you check out. The building itself is old but I love the charm of it and the upkeep of the building is very well done! I didn’t ever feel like there were any gross, run down parts anywhere. The only 2 small downsides with my stay were that the wifi wasn’t good (but it could also be the tall buildings around and/or the age of the hotel) and the high pitch noise from the showers (the walls are thick and you can’t hear your neighbors but if anyone showers, you definitely hear it). But besides those two things, I will DEFINITELY be staying at the hotel if I’m ever back in the city and will be recommending it to anyone that I know who’s going to the city. It’s in such a good location with lots to see and do!"

"Love the predictability for the pod times square for my short nyc trips. Friendly helpful staff on the movement you arrive, very clean room and bathroom, easy to get around for theatre and food on foot or uptown or downtown by subway. Comfy bed! Darkening shades."

"The restaurant/coffee shop was the best thing at the property. However, the front desk staff were horrible. I booked two rooms for myself and my friend. The male staff member and another woman that worked with them on one day tried to double charge me and my friend in error. When we tried to explain the error they were making they rolled their eyes at myself and my friend and presented as if we were lying. Then they had go back in their system because they "misplaced the money we paid". they discovered their error. After discovering their error they never apologized for their mistake and kept the same negative attitude. Due to their unprofessionalism my friends and I will never stay here again."

"Aura Hotel was conveniently located within a couple of min from Times Square. Bed was comfortable but room and bathroom tiny, typical of NYC, but had everything we needed. There wasn’t much room to put 2 large luggage due to space, so it was a bit of inconvenience, but not a deal breaker. Overall it was a good stay. Located about 2-4 min walk to Bryant Park and the subway. Close to 6th Avenue, St Patrick’s Cathedral, MOMA, Rockefeller Center, Radio City, Times Square"

"We booked an upgraded room unfortunately when we arrive, the room was not ready and it was broken. There was a lot of confusion among the staff of what was going on. We ended up waiting for many hours in a small cramped lobby. My wife is incredibly tired. We felt frustrated and angry, and when we had to be put in a room, we were putting in a room with incredibly noisy air conditioner. I was like sitting next to a diesel truck then room also was lower grade, but we stayed in there till our other room is ready. We moved into our right room ready by the television was broken, and I had a flickering light stove would give an epileptic person some sort of seizure the entire experience was lackluster and for the money that we paid it was completely underwhelming would avoid it all costs. Plus location and cleanliness negative everything else."
