Leider ein Hotel mit 4 Sternen in schöner Lage, welches in die Jahre gekommen ist. Wir haben im 3. Stockwerk geschlafen, dort war es vor Hitze nicht auszuhalten.

De douchekop kon niet naar boven of beneden. Hierdoor konden we niet douchen. We konden alleen NED 1,2,3 ontvangen. De verwarming kon niet lager gezet worden hierdoor was het erg warm in de kamer.

The restaurant is known to be excellent (I did not have an opportunity to try) and location is convenient but the hotel badly needs investment in a modernization of the rooms - for a hotel in Wassenaar they are very dated. My third floor room smelled mildewy.

Schone ruime kamer vriendelijk personeel.

Tijdens inchecken was het net even wat drukker. De receptioniste pakte dit echter goed aan door de informatie gezamenlijk te vertellen, waardoor het inchecken daarna vrij rap ging. Het lenen van een strijkijzer en strijkbout was ook geen enkel probleem. Het strijkbout was echter al uitgeleend, maar ik mocht de huishoudelijke strijkbout wel even lenen. De kamer was zeer ruim. Grote kast voor je dingen in de hal en mooie stevige nette hangers. Ook fijn dat er echt een halletje is die je kan afsluiten. Hierdoor heb ik weinig last gehad geluid. Een zitje (met bank, 2 stoelen en tafel) was erg gezellig. De hoeveelheid spiegels kwam bij mij ook zeer van pas. De badkamer is zeer ruim en voorzien van bad/douche, 2 wastafels een toilet en een bidet. Voornamelijk de 2 wastafels is erg fijn. Ook de richel die langs (bijna) alle muren loopt om spullen neer te zetten is fijn. Alleen bij het bad ligt er na het douchen wel een flinke laag water op dezelfde richel. De minpunten: Zoals het een ketenhotel betaamt is het hotel redelijk verouderd en zeker aan een opknapbeurt toe. De verlichting was allemaal los. Hierdoor moest je de hele kamer rond om alles aan te steken. Dit was ook wel nodig, want de lichten gaven ook niet bijzonder veel licht. De stopcontacten zitten ook erg laag bij het bed, waardoor ik op de grond mijn oplader erin moest steken. Ook is er maar 1 aan elke kant van het bed. Er was geen waterkoker, thee en koffiesetje wat je toch een beetje verwacht in een hotel.

Don’t try to boot this hotel! The room is very old and not clean. The Expedia show I or 2 guest room rate is same price. But when i check out hotel charge me additional 20 Euro for the second guest. I never hear about that!

A grand old Lady well past her prime

Fletcher needs to invest and update the hotel. The room was adequate but carpets worn and scruffy, curtains had bald spots, bathroom OK, no amenities, no coffee maker. Restaurant thrives on past reputation but when we were there a party in the other room kept us waiting for dinner for over an hour and when it arrived, it was cold. Waiting staff is incredibly sweet and helpful and that was a nice plaster on an otherwise unremarkable stay. Wassenaar is a beautiful area but isolated. A restaurant nearby called Meijendaal has great Dutch specialties and great walks. Hotel does provide bikes for the athletic.
