Location is perfect for holiday resort feeling. Breakfast option is a must as many restaurants do not open early. Rooms were standard hotel size and most come with a decent view.

Even though I booked a land view room, I received a room with sea view, which was amazing. The amenities in the room were excellent and there were some additional benefits for instance they have “Green Stay” whereby if you forego housekeeping you get a free drink a day. The location of the hotel is great - there’s enough to do close by which was great since there was a public transport strike one day. I also enjoyed the spa.

Great location with access to the waterfront and beach and good public transport connections into the city Centre. Overall the hotel was OK. It is a bit tired and could use a spruce up. Good breakfast selection. My main issue with the hotel is that they have insufficient and old lifts, meaning long wait times. They need to modernize the lift system.

A hotel that has seen better days, worn rooms, carpet cleaning is needed, the railing on the balcony really needed some fixing and the bathroom door had to be fixed as it could not be closed, fast service on getting it fixed. The common spaces where lovely and there is a special atmosphere for an old place like this.

I loved everything except the glass bathroom door. It’s just personal, you can hear everything and when the light is on at night you wake everyone up. But the hotel is amazing, the staff are lovely and the views are incredible. The buffet breakfast option at Waves is well worth it.

Great view of the North Sea and beach! Our suite was very nice, but the furniture needed some updating! Also, the air conditioner was extremely noisy and when it was on, it stayed on without shutting down when the temperature reached its point… Was disappointed that there was no common areas in the hotel for sitting as opposed to just staying in your room!
