"Really lovely stay. The room was spotless and exactly as we expected. Twin room with en suite shower and bath, situated above a tea room in Bonsall (approx. 5 minute drive from Matlock Bath). Decor was fresh and clean, bed warm and comfy and clothes storage more than adequate. Hospitality tray with hot drinks and biscuits and a selection of toiletries. The breakfast was outstanding. Amazing find and would highly recommend and definitely return."

"Fabulous bedroom & bathroom (The Arkwright Suite). Really lovely building, very clean with tasteful decor. Steak for dinner was excellent, while the beef pie was overcooked and hard. Pudding was gorgeous. Breakfast was very disappointing - chefs off duty? Staff were a bit hit and miss and not that friendly. We'd definately stay again when the gardens are in bloom - just maybe not have the breakfast."

"I loved the place, I was welcomed with a welcome package with tea and supplies. It was a 245 year old cottage so it has a few “features” which I loved the most about the place. I loved the three story staircase which was very good cardio. I’d love to stay again wonderful "

"Accomodation was larger than it looks in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The beds were comfortable, however I would take earplugs as I struggled to sleep due to the cars going past outside. I had to go and buy some from the town centre. At night the cars whizz past really fast. The listing states that there is free parking but this isn’t true- you have to pay for it. I have asked Hotels.com to amend this as it’s false advertising. The reason we booked this hotel was for the free parking!!! Luckily we got parked ok in the train station car park but had to pay £15 per car. In the afternoon however the car park soon fills up and people drive up and down looking for a space. We’d stay here again due the location and the charm of the building. "
