"The entrance to check in was not obvious from the outside when we arrived and the hotel is isolated in its location. However, staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good."

"Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. "Clean and friendly staff "

"For the last 2 times we were checked in by a staff member who was not customer service or caring at all!! Very cold and not willing to help in any way. The first time we had 4 suitcases to take to our room and outside the hotel there was an airport trolley. My husband loaded it and as we passed the desk were told we couldn’t take it to the room. We had planned to bring it straight back down stairs. The second time my husband booked the room for me and didn’t realise it was in his name. She...

"Proper traditional English hotel! Centre of Hartlepool. Reception staff very friendly as were cleaning staff I met. Quiet despite location and easy walking distance to transport networks."

"Check in was quick and easy. Staff were helpful and polite, even moved me from a room in the inn to an annexe room so I could be away from noise from bar. Also had a very good breakfast which is extra but excellent value for money. Definitely recommend it hotel and breakfast."

But then was told by reception staff that, because I booked through Expedia, I was not entitled to a water bowl or bed for them - which I would have been had I booked direct. Madness. Also not impressed with car parking - run by an ANPR company with hefty fines, even for hotel residents."
