"We had a lovely room with a large bathtub. The bed was very comfortable. The town lost power but we still had hot water which was awesome as it allowed us to have hot showers in the morning. They also made arrangements for a complimentary hot breakfast our second morning when the power was back on. Holly was excellent and enabled us to check in even without the power. "We were there during the weekend when the town held a special event about mountain bike. Luckily, the hotel was out of the city centre, so the night was peaceful and quiet. The room was spacious. Only one particularly dislike was that from the bathroom window, the afternoon sun was so strong that we could have got sunburn sitting on the toilet. And there was no curtain on bathroom window. Well, it was a very unusually sunny that day. "

"This is possibly the most charming hotels and place I can remember staying. It’s an old building in a harsh Scottish environment and that is part of its charm. If you want pristine decoration it’s not for you. If you want excellent hospitality, fantastic staff and walls full of the owner’s original art, go. Walk the Crinan trail - the view from the viewpoint is one of the best on a clear day (it is a steep walk though). A genuine Scottish gem."
