Every thing is perfect, the only thing I have to say is that at the app I reserved a room with private bathroom and there was not a private bathroom there.
A conseiller !
thanks a lot to Minshuku Iwatakan !
Unweit vom Markt Einkaufsstrasse etc.

Friendly owners, clean and the natural spring bath was the best! After a long day of walking around it was the perfect thing. Room was spacious and comfortable, staff even made sure to turn the heat on before I got back.
My girlfriend and I stayed in Takayama for 3 nights, and we really enjoyed this place.
The owners are a quiet but friendly Japanese couple who don't speak a ton of English, but it wasn't really a problem at all.
The location is nice, just on the fringes of the old city, about a 5 min bike ride or 15 min walk to the main center of town. They have tons of bikes for guests to use, and it's a really beautiful little town to bike through.
The onsen was a nice bonus, and it was always kept very clean. Just note that they are gender separated, and like a traditional Japanese onsen you bathe naked. There's a nice guide on the wall of the change room that shows you everything you need to know about proper onsen etiquette.
Overall we'd recommend this place to anyone looking for the Ryokan experience in Takayama.
Staffs are very kind. Living room is clear and hot spring is good. Although the distance to bus/train station is little far, B & B can pick you up at station.

It was a serviceable hotel
We were only passing through Takayama and needed an inexpensive place to stay (which is all relative when traveling in Japan during cherry blossom season in April. The prices everywhere seem to go up exponentially at that time. Even though we booked at least 2 months prior to our trip, it was very difficult to find a nice place at a mid-range price. The Minshuku Iwatatkan was clean and had an okay public bath. It was a bit far from the train station or any points of ear interest, but they did have a shuttle to/from the station.
