"Very complicated check in. The people from the motel wanted to charge me extra $100 for using a visa debit instead of a credit card. The money had already been taken from my bank account when I booked online but they insisted I have to give then extra $100 they would refund when I check out. Looked like a scam to me. Never had something like that in NZ before. "

"Things to know, there is a 24/7 shop just behind the hotel, you go through the lobby. At the front (Reception side) there's Pizza Hut, Kebab, Shop that are open till late. The Buffet is good too and also the facilities, pool, spa, sauna, herbal steam room, the showers 👍"

"The room was ready when we arrived. Well stocked with tea, milk waiting us in yhe fridge. View of the water as promised. We were asked if we had a small car, just as well. Tight getting it into the space we were allocated due to the angles of that particular parking space. Staff were pleasant and great cafes nearby. Pool not open."

"Staff were very pleasant. Room was very clean. Friday parking was no problem but unfortunately on Saturday when we returned there was no parking in either carparks so we ended up parking on the road. "

"We chose Carnmore as we needed to be near the hospital, but the location offered much more than that with the beach a 2-minute walk away in a pleasant neighbourhood, and cafés not too much further. Easy and secure parking, clean modern rooms and a quick check-in made it a great stay. We didn’t have time to use the pool but it looked great. "

"We’ve stayed here regularly and it’s been ok. Unfortunately this time it was too disgusting to stay. Cockroaches, used toothpick next to the bed, dirty socks left behind. A musky smell in the room. We didn’t even stay one night. When we tried to communicate this at check out on Friday night, where we handed in the key, we unfortunately had a very disinterested person on the desk who told us to have a good day 🙄 we’re not after a refund, just letting the motel know. We usually stay here, several times a year, but this time it was too bad. "
