The hotel is on aprox 10 min walking distance to mrt or busstation. Normally this is fine when there are normal corridors for pedestrians. However in Taichung most corridors are filled with scooters, making it hard to walk with luggage. We needed to walk on the way along the busy traffic, which made it a bit unsafe to go there by foot.
The hotel itself is in okay condition. The hotel rooms are like a basic business hotel. The receptionists are helpful and allowed us to store luggage for multiple days because of a short trip to another island.
This hotel suggests for guests to check-in after 5pm on Saturdays - which is quite ridiculous. They do inform you about this, but only AFTER booking is made.
On day of my check-in (a Saturday) I managed to speak to them for a conventional 3pm check in and they acceded。 Regardless, a 3pm check in should be the industry standard, not 5pm.
Trying to find the hotel was a little difficult since we were walking. It isn't located in a very traveler friendly area, as there are hardly any businesses open in this area. We had to stop and ask for some assistance a few times to get there, and we are pretty good with directions. Upon arrival, the staff weren't very friendly and didn't say much to us. It could have been the language barrier, so we just tried to be very simple with our questions. Once we got to the room, we thought it was nice, clean, and provided what we needed. We didn't have any troubles with our room at all. We only stayed for one night, which was sufficient. We didn't care for the area and didn't find it easy to figure out what to do in the area from the staff, but were able to figure it out on our own via internet. The breakfast buffet was pretty decent and was included in the price, which was nice. They had a good coffee machine, but no fresh milk. However, they did have hot soy milk. Overall, I only recommend this to someone passing through.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We were given room 216. It was a bad experience as this room only has a tiny window and when you look outside, it is facing the wall that is a foot away and some metal bars beside it. It give me a prison feel, specially, the room is quite dark. At 6:30am, it starts to have a deep fried smell. May be the restaurant downstairs start their business. But breakfast here is good. I think overall, the hotel is acceptable, just make sure you ask for higher floor.
