Back up you would hit the gate(bar) that is down, one of the workers used key to lift. He was the one that said we would hit the gate, it’s a bit crammed, other then that love the room."

"The Metcalfe is a wonderful property only steps away from everything downtown Ottawa has to offer. In addition to our spacious, tastefully appointed room, unbeknownst to us, the hotel charged our EV. When the valet brought our car to us on check-out it was fully charged and ready to go! Being a gifted critic I can usually find something that did not satisfy but at this well managed hotel everything was exactly the way we like it!"

"It’s a very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. But… if you’re a noise sensitive sleeper, make sure an A/C unit in your room isn’t too noisy (ours was just terrible). "
"Very quaint place - lots of character!! They’ve kept just enough of the old facility to give you the sense of actually being in a jail, but everything else is modern. Ample kitchen space and dining areas. Very very clean - spotless!! Very comfortable place to stay. I had the 2 person room with bunk beds. "
