A very friendly hotel, with an old world feel. We included breakfast in our booking and it was well worth it with a good selection of choices with a Middle Eastern influence. When we arrived the window outside our room was being painted, the staff were very accommodating moving us to another room away from the smell of new paint.
I will forgive the few things we didn't appreciate, like the AC unit immediately blowing on the bed (the only location possible) and the loss of the crepe cafe on the street, waahh. The breakfast was lovely, bed super, shower super. I would come back in a hot minute. If you have terrible knees, there is no lift. However, there is a dumbwaiter for your heavy bags, so there's that!
The room we were first given was extremely smelly, we asked for another & the manager gave us an upgrade, which was much nicer. Overall, the hotel is very tired - even the nicer room had many problems ie noisy air conditioning, broken toilet cistern (running constantly), dirty non-functioning blinds. No bottled water, no mini bar, filthy coffee maker. I donât think this hotel is 5 star (as advertised). We wonât return.
The elevator only takes luggage, so you have to walk up stairs to your room, so be aware. Staff is very friendly, but they didn't explain that guest must hang different door tag then don't disturb to get the $10 no room cleaning credit.
Unfortunately, being on the ground floor, we could hear the lobby music almost constantly even at night
Fantastic location right Amongst the main sites of Sydney so would definitely recommend
