"Key essentials are very good - hot strong shower, comfortable beds. Room decor is in need of some attention, but it is big site and understandably difficult to keep on top of. Not really an issue. Front facing rooms have great views, but road traffic can start early. Otherwise was very quiet. Would recommend."

As building is several hundred years old the windows are not sound proofed. I overlooked the High Street and you do hear traffic. Food is fantastic "

The room was lovely, and I was especially pleased that the bathroom was newer and cleaner than I had imagined. The front and back gardens were also beautiful.
The dinner and breakfast were excellent.
And it was very helpful to have a taxi arranged for us in advance for the round trip.

"From arrival & pulling up in front of the beautiful grand house, full of old world charm, to checking in to our well appointed junior suite, the staff were attentive & polite, the food was delicious, locally sourced & served with attention to detail. The bar provided a fantastic selection of food & drinks & Champagne seemed to be the order of the day, we even tried a pint of Clarkson's local brew. "Lovely country pub in a beautiful village. Friendly check in. Room was basic with separate bathroom but we had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Ample supply of tea and coffee. Lovely meal in the Indian restaurant. Continental breakfast was very basic but the cooked breakfast was lovely with perfectly cooked poached eggs."

One word of caution is around access throughout the hotel, this would be a challenge for anyone with limited mobility and impossible for wheelchair users. "The hotel is located in the village of Blockley, one of our favourite villages in the Cotswolds, as it is completely untouristy and truly charming. It is also very close to other villages, all easily reachable within 10–15 minutes by car. The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but the staff were extremely kind and even upgraded our room, giving us a very lovely and comfortable accommodation. Breakfast, ordered from the menu, was excellent.
