"We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....

"2rd stay at this hotel. Refused upgrade said not available. Had to argue for a 1 1/2 hour late checkout we did get a one hour late( why not give the extra 1/2 hour we asked for. No free parking mentioned. We never ate at this hotel too expensive. The bar is small and difficult to find a seat except spillover in hall. Bar staff were very nice but to busy to talk and drinks were crazy expensive. The bathroom sink only produced scalding hot water or cold.😡 For a five star we expected better...

It was extremely spacious, had comfy bed and pillows, a view of the Minister, and a bath to soak in. "clean room, but the shower was broken to begin with, but fixed after 20 minutes, and loud, drunk guest at 2 am one night, which kept me up for 3 hours, but I did not say anything at the time, with i would not want to deal with such people at 2 am, so can not blame them with just wanting to sleep at the time and did not do anything my self.
