"I really used to like this hotel as its in a beautiful location. I won't go back unless they buck there ideas up, check in was 4pm, room not ready after driving for 5 hours, no bar open and it's miles away from Inveraray, 5pm given a room key and found out it hadn't been cleaned. Bar opened 5pm my husband got me a drink and manager or owner (he turned up about 16.50 ) said by the time we had the drink our alternative room would be ready. We were not the only ones waiting at least another 5 or 6...

"Undoubtedly the most magical place we’ve ever stayed, words and pictures just can’t do The Little Cottage in the Woods justice. Every corner of the cottage and gardens reveal more delightful touches! We were sorry to have to leave so soon and wish we could have stayed longer. Even gypsy, the resident German Shepherd, provided a warm welcome to both the kids and dogs! Lynne and Jeff were the perfect hosts - friendly and helpful without being imposing. Ardtorna

10/10 Excellent

"An absolutely magical stay! I stayed at Ardtorna on Saturday in the stunning Dunstaffnage room, and I honestly couldn’t have wished for more. Its own private balcony with the most incredible views over the loch, the comfiest bed and everything spotlessly clean. I only wish I’d had longer to enjoy it all! What made it so special, though, was Karen. Within minutes of meeting her, I felt like I’d made a friend. She knew I was leaving very early the next morning for work and made me a healthy smoothie to take with me — such a thoughtful touch and something I really appreciated. There’s also a fabulous honesty bar, and I’m still gutted I missed Karen’s homemade breakfast. That alone is a reason to return! Some places stay with you long after you leave, and Ardtorna is absolutely one of them. I’ve told everyone about it already and genuinely can’t wait to go back. Thank you, Karen, for making such a short stay so memorable."

Perle Oban Hotel & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Perle Oban Hotel & Spa! The location is perfect, right in the heart of town and within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and pubs. We especially loved watching the fishing boats and ferries coming and going in the harbor. Our room was very comfortable, and the hotel was a wonderful home base for exploring Oban. We would happily stay here again!"

The George Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The location is stunning, the food in the restaurant and the breakfasts are fantastic and really great prices. We had brilliant interaction with the staff and even the owner who has had the hotel in his family for hundreds of years introduced himself and showed us the 2 haunted rooms. We will definitely go back and highly recommend it. Also very dog friendly."

Glencruitten House

8/10 Good

"Our stay at Glencruitten House was lovely. However, for the price there are a few things that did not exactly meet expectations. First, upon arrival we were offered a welcome drink to enjoy in the sitting room, which was very nice. But there was no direction for what we should do after. We were not offered assistance with bags at check-in, so we went to fetch our own bags after we finished our drinks. When we lugged in our bags we were told “oh someone could have helped you with that”. It was noted that no one proceeded to help us from the lobby to our room. There was also zero acknowledgement that we were celebrating our first anniversary. Not that we expected anything free— just acknowledging it would have gone a long way in appearing invested in your guests and making them feel special. On the whole, customer service just kind of seemed to be a bit lackluster. Additionally, the house just seemed to have quite a bit of touch ups/repair work needed (door on electric heater in bedroom was broken, lots of chipped paint on the walls, streaky paint jobs on windows where a second coat was necessary, sloppy paint jobs where paint was on window glass and door trims). Nothing was “wrong” with our stay, per se. It’s just that staff interactions and the space itself could have been much more polished and refined. Our experience was more in line with a cheaper accommodation."
