"This was a great place to stay! It was clean, quiet, breakfast was good, and a great place to explore from!"

"Very disappointed with our stay here. Room was terrible and not what we booked. It was a handicap room and not facing the ocean. Also did not include parking which was an additional cost I didn’t expect. Waiting for our room to be ready the heating and cooling system as well as the tv were very hard to operate as well as the shower. Would not recommend this hotel at all. The staff upon arrival were also very rude. We did not expect this considering the cost paid close to $800 for two night stay...

"Excellent care and helpful behavior throughout. Room was great. On site restaurant excellent. All in all a place we will come back to."

"The room was so cool and comfy, the location was awesome. Valet was awesome. Staff were really nice and fast. I would give them 6 stars if i could! Thank you portola!!"

"The amenities were clean and comfortable. It was quiet and the landscaping was very nice. The bath towels needed to be larger."

"Beautiful property, great location, the staff was very kind and helpful."

"For the price, this hotel is above average, but the Expedia photos set our expectations much higher. The exterior looks more like a motel, and when we arrived, we felt misled by how different it looked from the listing. The rooms are nice, but the beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were poor. The food was average, breakfast options were limited, and parking could be a hassle. The pool was disappointing, too—don’t bother packing your swim trunks. The highlight was the staff, who were...

"We enjoyed a pleasant night at this hotel while driving south on Hwy 1. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed resting by the pool in the sun, although it was not heated and very cold for swimming. The comfy outdoor furniture area was lovely to relax in, as well. The location was OK, about a mile walk down to Fisherman's Wharf with many choices of restaurants. The staff members we came across weren't the most friendly but OK. Overall, it was a nice place to stay for the night."

"Parking very tight in some spaces"

"Made the stay even better"

"I miss the human contact. Definitely a bots/ kiosk is not for me. Not a fan of codes. -No coffee cups in the office, so I couldn’t drink anything and didn’t have any in room, that’s why a real human is needed it because people take them all. -Grounds like steps and walking paths to rooms should be cleaned and washed often. Housekeepers were unfriendly. -Had some small issues with my stay but they were resolved by staff members, I appreciate that. -Hotel is eager to families also our room...

"They advertise an electric car charging station but they only make it available between 8-11PM. Ridiculous."

"BEWARE, NO air-conditioning, needed windows to be open. We stayed in a city view room on the top floor. VERY NOISY till the wee hours and woken by garbage and delivery trucks every morning! That being said the room was BEAUTIFUL!! enjoyed the breakfast service and happy hour in the lobby."

"Affordable and quiet—recommended."

"It was a good place for the price. Nice, simple, newly renovated place. Just one story, which is what I need because I can’t climb stairs well. Parking right in front of room was good. Clean and comfortable room and bed. Minimal noise. No breakfast, just coffee. Very close to shopping center there."

"Location is good"

"Over all were good. Nice and clean. Two points of concern. Firstly breakfast area was cramped even when there were not many guests. Secondly light sensor in toilet was either set incorrectly or malfunctioning. It would shut down light every 30 seconds. It could not detect people inside shower room. We had to slide open shower door every 30 seconds or taking shower in complete darkness. If it happened only to our room then it should be fixed before we arrived. If it happened to all rooms then it...
