Excellent communication and very helpful staff; very impressive view of Vesuvius and Naples Bay from a large balcony - choose Charlotte apartment; very well equipped kitchen; bright apartment; clean; 15 min walk from train station, but might not be suitable for elderly or disabled as on a little hill (also be aware that Sorrento has no pavements in many areas); lift is available at the property (3rd floor). We would happily return!

The location is really great, just a short 10 min walk to the Main square and a great place to eat just up the hill, but unfortunately the dishwasher was not working, and the espresso machine was broken, I let the host know and nothing was done about it. Also we were told there would be an iron in the unit we stayed in but there was none, so my linens stayed wrinkled. Otherwise a great stay.

Clean, airy room with good bathroom; also small refrigerator and coffee making facilities - all I needed for a comfortable stay. The property is more like a 15 minute walk from the station and the latter half uphill, partly along a narrow road with no pavement which wasn't much fun with a suitcase after dark but otherwise fine.

Other travellers left better reviews but Relais Mirage did not work for us. After booking on the Expedia website, I received a message where I was asked to make a returnable payment of 300 Euros in case of damages (but note that nobody of the property would be present at checkout), which was not mentioned before the booking. I was also told to send a message (at a number they specified) to inform them of my arrival when I was 20 minutes away. I did, but nobody was at the property when I arrived. They said that I had not informed them (though the person that eventually came 20 minutes later recognised that the people at reception had been careless). The route from/to the train station is very uncomfortable with luggage: there are steps, long sections without a pavement and the road to the place is uphill. Relais Mirage is not a hotel (as it is described on some websites): they rent rooms in an apartment inside a rather rundown building. The apartment as well as the room we booked are not pleasant; indeed, the room was very scruffy and rather small, and smelt of cigarettes. Positive points: sheets and towels and the bathroom were clean and the property is one kilometre away from the centre.

A few notes for improvement: restaurant recommendations from the host would have been helpful. The place needed a larger (or second) trash bin. The backyard garden felt neglected and lacked any seating, so we couldn’t use the space comfortably. The building exterior is quite old and in need of an update to say it nicely. We also weren’t expecting the roosters—they started crowing around 3 AM and didn’t stop. Earplugs are a must for light sleepers! Overall, we loved Sorrento and would still recommend the area.

Upea näkymä merelle ja Vesuviukselle. Tilava, kaunis huoneisto ja terassi. Sijainti rinteessä, joten vaatii hyvää kuntoa, jos liikkuu jalkaisin. Sujuva yhteydenpito Whatsapilla majoittajaan.
