Our room was basically made out of wood, and the balcony looked over the mountains. We loved that! We had a beautiful sunset. There was an excellent restaurant within walking distance with gluten free options. The breakfast was large and tasty. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Recommend without hesitation

Super great place- brand new (Jan2016). The owners were super friendly and made dinner for us even though we arrived late. They also led us on a complimentary private walk to show us some of the local fauna and animals. They had great insight about which tours to take (unlike others we talked to who have "relationships" and led us in the right direction. I would definitely recommend Bosque Verde Lodge and stay there again without hesitation if I were to return.

It is a lovely place, far away from the downtown, so if you want a quiet place, with a great view and see a lot of hummingbirds, it's perfect for you.

Kalt und mangelnde Sauberkeit

Die Zimmer sind leider nicht sauber! Die Böden sind schmutzig, in der Dusche befanden sich Haare an den seitlichen Fliesen von mindestens zwei Personen. In monteverde herrscht ein kühleres Klima, die Fenster sind nicht ansatzweise abgedichtet, Insekten und Kälte haben leichtes Spiel. Im Vergleich mit anderen Unterkünften war diese deutlich teurer, deshalb ist meine Enttäuschung, dass es an Basics wie Sauberkeit mangelnd besonders groß

Great for views, but a bit too remote

Overall, staff was accommodating. Expect only the basics from this hotel, beyond the incredible view (if the clouds are less dense during your stay). Staff speak limited English so a bit difficult to work through them on recommendations and tours/accommodations. Almost no tour companies would pick/drop us off at this hotel because it's really in another city and too far out of their way/ opposite direction from the main tour attractions and too far from where bulk of where tourists actually stay. I could also hear my neighbors through a thin wall. It doesn't look like they too many guests at a time so depending on what you're looking for, this may be a good hotel option for you. We are in our mid 30s and are pretty active and did a lot of the tours/adventures and didn't rent a car, so in hindsight, we would've rather stayed at a hotel closer to town (Monteverde).

The hotel was in a very remote location and no shuttles from any of the tours in Monteverde provide pickup from this hotel. The receptionist was very nice but all services were not up to a hotel standard. The wifi was not working, along with many other things. There were no tour information readily available. Also, no one spoke English.

We didn't stay because the hotel is too remote. Nothing to do without driving a great distance. Hotel is still in the process of being built. Only 4 rooms.

Ejeren virkede rigtig venlig, men talte desværre ikke engelsk. Fantastisk god morgenmad. Den unge pige i receptionen virkede sur og ikke service minded, det kan gøres meget bedre ! Hotellet er nyt, men virkede også halvfærdigt og væggene var ultra tynde, man kunne tydeligt hører de andre gæster. Ingen dekorationer på værelserne eller i hovedbygningen. Der var ingen kroge til håndklæderne.

Lovely place! Difficult to find: see our remarks

Eine wirklich sehr e Lodge und die Eigentuemer geben sich grosse Muehe! Es ist nur etwas schwer zufinden, da die Hinweise erst ausserhalb des Ortes sind und auch sehr klein. Es sollte als Wegbeschreibung sein: leave St Elena on 606. when you see a big sign COFFEE in 100 meters then you have to turn right. Follow this road and see the small signs!
