"The manager Anna couldn’t have been nicer. She greeted us with a cup of tea and biscuits and allowed us to check-in early and was very helpful with suggestions of things to do in the city. Rooms were comfortable and quiet and included on-site free parking. Location just a short walk into the centre. Breakfast also very good with lots of options. "
"The Sunderland Holiday Inn staff were wonderful. I had a bad fall at the theatre and when I got back they couldn’t have been more kind and helpful, especially Kieran. He offered to take me to A&E but I did not want to go. He bathed my wound and found a plaster for it. I cannot remember the name of the other receptionist but she was equally as kind and helpful. "Wonderful location and setting. The hotel leans into it's historic location. Beautiful flowers adorning the building make it even more impressive. Very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfasts and friendly staff. Very accessible for activities in the area."
"I spent one night whilst visiting a friend and the hotel was absolutely ideal. Fantastic location on the beach front. All of the staff were friendly, the room was a decent size and very clean. Bathroom was also a good size with a powerful shower and extremely clean. It's a touch on the old side and is currently being renovated but honestly for the price it exceeded all expectations. The breakfast is genuinely superb as a particular highlight. "

"This is an excellent, value for money budget hotel. Most facilities are at par with what you would expect from a budget hotel but most outstanding feature is its very helpful staff. Adam is a star. He went above and beyond with anything we needed help with. All other staff we interacted with - Sumit, Helen, Caroline - were all very kind and helpful. Kudos to the management for hiring such awesome people.
The next door pub waggon team is also an asset, good food at reasonable prices.

"I booked this last minute as our other booking cancelled and we needed somewhere to stay for a nearby wedding. Wow this is a gorgeous place. Everything from organising an early check in for us to the lovely breakfast the next day was amazing. Our room was like a suite with a lovely super king bed and the bathroom was also massive. For the price you pay it’s such a good deal and we will be returning and might book the golf or evening meal as add ons. "
