"This was our third stay at the Mitre House Hotel. Such a great location in Sussex Gardens. It's within walking distance from Paddington Station as well as two tube stops: Paddington and Lancaster Gate (which means it is walkable to Kensington Gardens and the Marble Arch. Room rates are reasonable and include a complimentary breakfast. Since we arrive early in the morning, we stop to drop our luggage, spend the day sightseeing, returning late afternoon to check in. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our room is a bit snug in spots but comfortable and clean. There was closet space to hang clothes and stow luggage. There are several terrific restaurants within a couple blocks of the hotel. And it is safe to walk about the neighborhood to and from restaurants or the tube or train station at all hours."

"The staff was exceptional, and the breakfast was very good, but the property is very dated. The bathroom was awkward because the tub walls were very high. The hallways and rooms are furnished in dark, depressing colors. The AC unit was located directly above our bed and began to leak condensation on our final day."
