Very nice stay! The hotel is just way too cute, if you like small coquette boutique properties. Their bar is cozy and intimate too. Location is perfect, walkable to where you want to be. Definitely going back.

Unique boutique hotel in feet away from Columbus Park. Great bar and restaurant off lobby and bar / social club two blocks away. Beautiful historic building with interior courtyard. Small but quaint rooms. Overall lots of local charm.

The best place to stay for the money!! Clean and quaint! The foliage in the courtyard amd rooftop lounge area is beautiful. The food here is absolutely the best in the area! Hot water is a bit scarce. Beds are great!! we stayed for three days! Yesenia is the best!!

First get-a-way with hubby a win!

This was my hubby's and I first get-a-way without the kids and we absolutely loved it. Mosquito hotel is absolutely amazing. The premises, room & decor were really nice. Lucila who checked us in and was there during our stay was amazing. During breakfast our waiters were also very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay there agin & highly recommend it.

Lovely Boutique Hotel

We loved our stay. If there was any take away, it would be the noise level during the night and early morning (but our room was on the street side) it really did not bother me because I love to feel the Dominican vibe! Lol . Highly recommend the Dominican breakfast!!!

Great staff but not so great accommodations

The service was impeccable and the location is great but the rooms themselves left much to be desired. It was small, did not have a closet, and smelled humid. Our room was on the first floor directly next to where breakfast is served and where patrons can hang out. It was impossible to sleep with the constant conversations happening 3 feet away from our room. The included breakfast was also only ONE plate from their menu every single day and the repetition had us finding alternate breakfast options. The food in general (outside of breakfast) was hit or miss as we ordered the same items on different days and there were clear differences in taste and quality. The bar served good drinks and had a fun atmosphere.

We stayed at Mosquito for 3 weekend nights in April. The location cannot be beat. Walkable to everything in the Colonial Zone. Very quiet since we stayed in a room in the back of the hotel. Only a few rooms face the street. Our room (Standard Double) was TINY. Just enough room for a bed, a comfortable chair, and a good-sized open closet. But we did not spend much time in the room except to sleep and change clothes. Powerful air conditioning. The shower had plenty of hot water and high-end toiletries. Breakfast in the charming tropical courtyard. The free options were great (egg dishes, toast, juice & fruit). For extra charge you could get special dishes like breakfast burrito or avocado toast. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bar area was lively at night but we chose to head away from the hotel for evening activities. Very safe area since tourist-friendly and well patrolled.

Different than expected

Unfortunately, the hotel was undergoing renovations during our stay. The workers finished work at 8:20pm and resumed the next morning around 7am. We are early risers so it didn't bother us too much but there was debris, tools, and equipment all over the common areas. Right after we arrived the water for the whole building went out. Myself and another guest were stranded at the sink with soap already on our hands so the employees helped us finish washing with some backup water. It was restored later in the day and thankfully did not happen again during our stay. Otherwise, we were pleased with the location, price, and aesthetics of the hotel. The staff could be friendlier, especially when there is a language barrier.
