2nd time staying here, possibly better than the first time, I’ll always keep staying here when I visit, staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is just breathtaking.
Great location and within walking distance of all mayor attractions. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very helpful and kind staff and a beautiful historical building!!
Such a beautiful hotel! The location was perfect after we were finished with our walk from Porto!!
The staff met all of our expectations for a 5-star hotel!
The grounds were so beautiful too! All that we wanted to see was within walking distance from the hotel!
Was interesting to stay in a historic building. We enjoyed walking around and exploring the hotel itself. The breakfast was very good, so many choices. The room itself was ok, a bit dark and dated and looked at another building.
The hotel is in a building that is historic and several hundred years old. It is also the only hotel right on the square where pilgrims arrive and next to the cathedral. It is the best place to stay and enjoy the best part of Santiago. Breakfast was great, our stay there was a truly magical experience.
Nice hotel with great location. A few annoying things like noise level but overall a good stay
Only one key per room
Front desk staff could be more friendly but I guess it’s Spain
Amazing property overlooking the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela! Built 500 or so years ago so you can only imagine the beauty of this building. I’ll stay there again and only there in Santiago. Great staff and service. Just perfect all around.
Amazing end to our Camino
The fulfilling end to my second Camino
Staying in the place I promised myself I would
Check!
Dinner was fabulous as was breakfast brunch
Amazing parador next to the cathedral. Very luxurious and amazing to stay in a historic building right in the centre. The breakfast buffet is sensational with the highlight being the huge variety of fruit!
Imagine staying in a 5-star hotel that was originally a medieval hospital- soaring gothic arches around 4 delightful courtyard gardens, amazing food and service, outstanding buffet breakfast
This hotel is located facing the Cathedral in a building constructed more than 500 years ago by the Catholic King Fernando de Aragón as a hospital. Since 1928 has been transformed to a 5 Stars Luxury hotel. The premises are remarkably well maintained. The breakfast is superb. The staff is very courteous, polite and helpful. I recommend to walk around the courtyards and the hallways to appreciate the architecture and the antique furniture; and also to see the golden chapel of the King.
Spectacular! Amazing experience! Staying at this wonderful property was the best way to experience Santiago de Compostela. The historic building property is impressive and so beautiful that from the moment you see it, you know you made the right decision to stay in.
Staff is welcoming, caring and dedicated professionals. I will highly recommend!
At the end of your Camino journey, you want to splurge and book this hotel. Not only are the grounds beautiful and the location beside the Cathedral ideal, but luxuriating in a bath and having coffee and tea amenities in the room glorious after the long walk. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. Highly recommend!
As someone who has travelled extensively and stayed in countless hotels around the world, I can honestly say this was not only one of the finest hotels I’ve experienced, but one of the very best Paradors in Spain. The combination of exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, outstanding cuisine, and genuine hospitality made for an unforgettable stay. Every detail reflected the unique charm and heritage that make the Parador experience so special. I would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable stay in Spain.
