"Very helpful staff and the food was great. The Hotel is a bit tired and decor is dated"

"The hotel was quite dated but rooms were clean and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good."

"The Knoll House Hotel is a charming hotel which was once a personal residence. It has a lot of history and is in a delightful location overlooking the sea. There are several comfortable seating areas of various sizes and styles. The restaurant is very large and the food and service is very good. The breakfasts are particularly enjoyable with a plentiful range for self-service. The outdoor swimming pool was heated, despite it being October when we stayed there. There is also a small indoor pool...

"Represented very good value for money. Staff were very helpful and nice to deal with."

"Never really write reviews but maybe that goes some way to show how impressed I was. Staff feel as though they care about the place and in a world where customer service in hospitality is struggling it was so refreshing. Will definitely be back next time I have to stay in the area. Food was excellent for the price point."

"When we arrived at the hotel we found the car park easy to find, then followed the signs for reception. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, we were quickly checked in. Then directed to our room, which was very nice, warm and comfortable with a massive bed. It was all very clean and tidy. The only problem was at first we had no hot water but that was quickly rectified. We were soon settled in, then it was time to get some dinner, this was the only thing that we found disappointing...

"Old hotel. Food was good. Three issues: bed was uncomfortable; tap water was not recommended for drinking with the hotel providing carafes of water to take to your room; and parking spaces are quite limited."

"OK room - no air con but understandable give the age of the building. Bed was OK, but traffic noise is noticeable, especially with the window open (remember there is no air con), so not the best nights' sleep. Staff were fantastic though, especially the breakfast server and the breakfast itself was great."

"Listed as four star with two rosettes, should be rated maximum of two star. Breakfast was greasy. Lack of ambience. Bathroom stank of cigarette smoke. Cleaners took away the rubbish and changed the towels but did not make the bed. No lounge to sit and relax in. Website mentioned restaurant being refurbed. No sign of this happening. Whole hotel is tired and needs complete overhaul. Bed and pillows uncomfortable. Chairs by window also uncomfortable. Stayed just one night, not two due to the...

"Staff were friendly and very helpful, room was clean and the facilities in the room were good, breakfast options were good and the food was tasty. The gym and pool facilities were great with a wide variety of options for fitness. Overall would reccomend a stay here for sure."

"The hotel is very well run and the hosts are very helpful. The rooms are a decent size. Although it took a while for the water to warm up in the shower. I acknowledge that this is beyond the owner’s control, but my second floor room overlooked a junction and the traffic was noisy . At about 4am a lorry collected the empty glass bottles. The noise of the crash as the glass shattered was shocking. Avoid a roadside room on a Wednesday morning….if you want undisturbed sleep."

"Clean spacious room . Very good location"
