What a host, what a view, and what food !!! Miguel - the host, made us feel very well looked after. Provided wealth of information about the local area, local traditions, food and wines. According to Miguel, Rioja region makes the best wine in the world !!! I'm no connoisseur to dispute that (perhaps after I open one of the Marqués de Riscal Reserva 2012 bought from Rioja). The lovable dog 'Bernie' was so friendly, my son who is normally scared of dogs went on walks together. The hotel is right next to a stream (dry in summer) and the dining room has the best view of the steep and misty mountains thanks to large glass windows. The food at the restaurant is to die for. We enjoyed the Calamari and the bean stew so much, we wanted to come back again just to have it once more but the schedule didn't permit this time. The waiting staff don't speak much English - but we still managed to order what we wanted (ok English version of the menu helped too). that's the beauty of going abroad. It would be so boring if everyone spoke English. The 1 bed apartment room was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. I'd certainly go back again.
The most beautiful place I have ever been sofar! Not the hotel, but the place where is the hotel located. Hotel was excellent too. Personal, room very clean with style, restaurant, very good food, no noise... But that view to the countryside. Gorgeous!!!
