Saint Vivien

"We stayed for 3 nights and had a relaxing break in this lovely seaside resport. The hotel is about a 4 minute walk from the seafront. It's opposite the railway station making it easy to get into La Rochelle (20 mins away) or a trip to Bordeaux for the day in the other direction. The trains are not noisy and the rooms are quiet. Choice is good, reasonable price for a hotel and good quality. Breakfast was very good, it’s popular even out of season so would imagine it’s a bit of a crush if really busy. Rooms are basic but nice, would be handy to have bedside tables both sides and USB points. Very clean. The outside terrace was...

"I was at first disappointed, because I reserved a harbor-front view room, but when I checked in, it was not available. However, the thoroughly apologetic desk staff provided a consolation room, which had a good view of a jumbled terrain of ancient, brick-tile roofs with a church steeple behind. It also had a private balcony which was large enough to accommodate a small table and 2 chairs. We also were complemented their breakfast, which was huge in its variety of breads, rolls, salads, cheeses,...
