Top location close to the beach. Very service minded staff made us feel special and wellcome. Room was in the first floor which occationally impacted our sleep as noisy and tipsy restaurant visitors in the adjacent street had an urge to sing loud and clear around midnight. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and will come back another year.
Very good location, close to the beach and perfect for the old town streets. Great welcome. Very helpful. Loved our room over looking the street. A tiny word of warning, if you have a front room on a Saturday night, the bar next door is open until 2am and plays loud music. But other nights were quiet.
We loved this hotel, it has lots of character and is located in the heart of the old town a stones throw from the beach. Staff were very helpful both in the run up to our stay (helping to advise on which public parking to use) and when we arrived. Rooms are reasonable size for a short stay, bathroom was a little small but manageable. As I said the hotel in right in the heart of the old town. our room overlooked the street which was lovely but it was noisy at night and we resorted to using ear plugs at night (available in reception). Very much enjoyed our stay and the town of Saint-Jean-de-Lux.
This a very charming place in the middle of town and the staff is very helpful. They've really packed quite a lot into a small location. The room was clean and quite spacious with a nice outdoor patio. I forgot my power adapter for this overnight trip and the nice young woman from the desk brought one to my room to borrow. The hotel is on the same street with restaurants and bars, and I'd recommend the Pub du Corsaire, just two doors down for good food and excellent service. Txoko made my short stay in Saint Jean de Luz a very nice experience.
It is a 3 story tiny cozy and clean hotel right in the hard of old town. Services are very limited. Unless you reserved breakfast early the day before , no breakfast possibility. We checked in around 7 pm and by then there was nobody at the reception. Thankfully they left us the keys. The main problem of this location is that the rooms are right above the main evening restaurant/ partying scene in town. People party till 3 am every night . Sleeping is possible only with completely closed windows, TV on and ear plugs…
Benoit at the front desk was outstanding, gave us an upgrade for the first two nights to the quieter back rooms of the hotel. Also carried my wife’s suitcase up the stairs. Location is right in the heart of Saint Jean de Luz, surrounded by restaurants only downside is the noise in hotel’s front rooms. We were amazed by this town and wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this hotel again.
The hotel is very central, less than a minute from the beach, not too far from the train station and perfect for exploring Saint-Jean-de-Luz. We booked a comfort room with terrasse. The room is nice (not too large though) and the terrasse features a table and chairs. However there are many restaurants in that street and the tubes from the restaurant kitchens exhaust fans are just by the terrasse so expect the small of cooking. I would chose that room again though as the rooms facing the street side will have the noise of the street and many restaurant terrasses.
Only continental (i.e. sweet) breakfast is proposed by the hotel but there are many places nearby which propose savoury breakfasts such as Horizon Brunch, Akeita Coffee or Martxuka.
Reception and hotel services are minimal.
Well located and walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Helpful and friendly staff when needed
But the hotel has issues which I was surprised didn’t show up in other reviews. Rooms are much smaller than photos make it seem, lots of noise from the street until 2-3am made it very hard to sleep. Room felt stuffed inside, probably due to carpet. Bed not very comfortable, and shower had a bit of an issue with water not draining fast enough for the shower strength and leading to a lot of water on the whole bathroom (with no curtain or door for it)
Overpriced, noisy and uncomfortable: nothing like a 3-star hotel.
A total scam: not 3 stars, expensive and impossible to rest.
Uncomfortable, noisy and overpriced hotel, not recommended.
Terrible value for money, it doesn’t deserve the rating it has.
Impossible access, broken bathroom and no reception: a 3-star fraud.
Not worth the price: expensive, tiny and impossible to sleep due to noise
