"Escaping to the country has never been more fun and magical. The resident robin and all his many friends keep you in that chilled mindset.
The town of Rye was 10 mins by car and full of historical charm. It was even being used for filming while we visited.
We walked from Rye to Camber sands along the cycle path and there are frequent buses back. "

"I was disappointed with this stay. For the amount of money it cost, the caravan was not clean, was overcrowded and needs a lot of smarting up.
You had to pay extra to have bedding which I think is unreasonable, particularly how much it cost per night anyway. Communication with the host was fine but not great. Unfortunately I won’t be recommending or returning to this property. "

"The rooms and facilties were clean and well kempt. Must mention that the swimming pool is beautiful. Had a good time in the spa facilities. The walk by the sea and the garden was the highlight of the mothers day. For a grand hotel as Hythe imperial, It was surprising that a room did not have robes and slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste and a conditioner. Been to smaller hotels with better attention to such small details. The breakfast was not the best. The staff in the reception did not seem very attending as we were there waiting for some time. There was a opened sandwich in the fridge which must hve been left by the previous guests. So, overall it was an average stay at a grand hotel."
"It offered me exactly what i needed, a room, high up, overlooking the beach, it gave me exactly that. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend if this is you."
"I recently stayed at this hotel and found that its location is one of its biggest strengths. It’s close to plenty of shops and restaurants, and the lively pub downstairs adds a lot of character and energy to the place.
There were, however, a few areas where the experience didn’t quite meet expectations, and I hope this feedback is helpful for both management and future guests.
Breakfast Issue
Breakfast wasn’t available on Saturday morning at the time confirmed in my booking and at check‑in, due to the kitchen staff being unable to access the kitchen. The staff member on duty did their best and suggested I go to another restaurant and request a refund later. Unfortunately, when I spoke with the manager, the interaction felt dismissive, and the hotel only refunded the nominal breakfast cost rather than honouring the original arrangement. Clearer communication and a more guest‑focused approach would really improve this.
Room Cleanliness
The room carpet hadn’t been cleaned before my arrival and had a visible stain, and the room wasn’t serviced on the second day. Small details like this make a big difference to the overall stay.
Room Condition
A few maintenance issues stood out: mould around the bath, a broken shower fitting that made it difficult to wash comfortably, and a vanity mirror that couldn’t be adjusted. These are all fixable and would help elevate the guest experience.

"The room was a bit small but the view was great of the beach the staff was always very helpful I did like the off street parking I would come back ten out of ten 👍👍"
Holiday Inn Express Folkestone - Channel Tunnel by IHG
6/10 Okay
"We stayed here for one night before heading through the Channel Tunnel to France, and for that purpose the location really can’t be faulted – it’s a solid 10/10 and incredibly convenient.
That said, there were a few issues worth noting. In our room, the shower holder was broken, meaning you had to hold the shower head the entire time, which wasn’t ideal. Parking is no longer included and is now managed by a third party at £6 per night, which feels like an unnecessary extra. The biggest surprise, though, was the dog fee – now £30, which was actually more than the cost per adult. It does feel like they may be taking advantage of the fact that many guests are travelling with pets to France.
