"What an idyllic delight!!! It’s an old home, but it was so comfortable! Our room was huge, and the breakfast buffet in the morning right outside our door was perfect. The tea & biscuits waiting for us in our room upon arrival were much appreciated, and I got to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets of my life over the sheep fields."

"We were warmly greeted on our arrival. Our room was very clean. The radiator was broken and they did warn us about that in advance. It was solved the next very next day. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of options."

"The room I was assigned was on the outside, where workmen were updating rooms, so parking was crowded and noisy. This entrance was also used by deliveries, some arriving before 6am. I would have preferred to be advised of this renovation prior to booking as I would have chosen another hotel. The room itself was fine, and the staff were friendly enough."

"La struttura è tipicamente antica come tutto nella zona ma molto caratteristica e con i camini accesi tutto ha un fascino maggiore. Il personale è stato molto disponibile ed attento alle esigenze mie e di mia figlia. Ci siamo innamorate del posto e ci torneremo molto volentieri. L’unica cosa negativa è che il mercoledì e il giovedì la cucina era chiusa. A noi avrebbe fatto piacere restare a cenare nella struttura. Lunedì e martedì abbiamo mangiato piatti squisiti."

"We booked a “cosy room”. It was small, but ok for 1 night. Very clean, nicely decorated and dressed. A nice bathroom. Could have done with a shelf to put stuff on, but we managed. Staff were very good and helpful. Breakfast was disappointing. Toast was burned and it would have been nice to have had back bacon, not streaky which was very well done and hard to cut and chew. Good location."

"On check in asked for a breakfast to take away due to a 5 am start the following morning Was told no . No air conditioning in the lodge just a fan . Very quiet location with no amenities round about . Room was clean with lovely views . Had breakfast the second morning which was nice . If you’re after a really quiet retreat then it’s for you ."

"This older home was well maintained and comfy. It was close to the centre of Banbury and down the hill to Banbury Cross and the statue of the lady on the horse. Breakfast is included and there is a wide range of cold or hot meal options; there is a kettle in the room with tea bag’s and coffee packs with sugar and UHT milk made it easy to have a hot drink in your room early morning or in the evening. For being on a busy road it was very quiet. Michelle is welcoming, but leaves you to get on with...

"Needed a last minute stay and found an absolute gem with this place. It has just been taken over and they have made a great job of the renovation. Spotlessly clean. Really comfy bed and great shower. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Nice and quiet on a night even though it faces the main road. Two minutes walk to pubs and restaurants. Fantastic overnight stay. Would 100% recommend. Good luck to the new owners."
