"Lovely clean room with everything needed for sn overnight stay before a flight. Excellent cheap continental breakfast at 5 am. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel "

"Good location for the airport and thankfully we weren’t in our room much because it was a bit cool for us but heating didn’t work. Also the water was too cool too, I like a hot shower so that was awful not getting one but couldn’t be bothered complaining when there as it was a short stay. The worse thing was how we were treated by the shuttle bus driver when going back to the airport on Sunday evening. He spoke sarcastically when I asked was he going to airport at that time, he just came across like an angry man with a face full of thunder and to be like that towards a woman with two teenagers was horrendous. I actually still tried to be civil when getting off the bus so said thanks but he just stared at us so I then said how rude but he just ignored me! I won’t be staying again at that hotel based on this if I’m there again. Any other Clayton hotel I’ve stayed in has been great but not this one. The staff member checking us out was lovely so that was good! "

"We don’t use hotels often, partly because I feel they’re a very expensive option, especially in the UK, where they seem mostly to offer uniform mediocrity at over- inflated prices. On the plus side our rooms were clean and spacious, the adjoining San Carlino restaurant was excellent and welcoming and the location for access to trams at Altrincham and Manchester Marathon was pretty ideal. We had a pleasant stay. On the downside, some of the staff on reception didn’t speak English well enough to help us with queries ( including a mistaken cancellation of our booking which we were only notified of on the day we were due to arrive! ). The breakfast was extra and very average. Pretty much everything on offer being slightly chewy and lukewarm due to the buffet system on offer and inadequate heating of pre- prepared items for a cooked breakfast. The changing rooms and pool area were also quite dirty with a murky plunge pool and muddy changing room floors. I’ll sign off with the greatest insult which were the prices charged in the self-service shop. £6 for a packet of crisps, a medium size bar of Cadbury or £4-5 for a packet of Haribo etc wich we felt were unjustifiable and merely an opportunistic attempt to rip off residents."

"Ideal for an overnight stay ready for an early flight the next day. We parked the car at the airport, walked with our suitcases to the hotel. It really was only a few minutes walk, as I had been concerned about this, and I managed it no problem. No noise in the hotel, so we had a good night’s sleep ready for our early flight. Would definitely recommend, and would stay there again"

"Perfect pre-flight stay. Very comfortable and quiet room. A great nights sleep before an early flight. Nice restaurant and bar both serving good food options. Save all the stress by staying a very short walk from the terminal."

"The room was really spacious and clean. It was a little bit old as the carpet was a bit worn in places which was a shame. The pool area was nice and was well maintained. The breakfast was regularly stocked which was a bonus as some hotels are very slow at refreshing the breakfast! All in all, a nice hotel on beautiful grounds. Would stay again"

"All change at the Buxton Crescent, so be careful what is and isn't included in your booking. Have stayed here many times B&B to take advantage of the Pools and to some extent, Spa facilities. After the takeover by Champneys, access to these is no longer included if you book through a third party or if you only book B&B with the hotel directly. Then there's a charge of £40pp to access pool and spa. Which seems steep to me. To access pool and spa within your booked price, you need to book dinner, and B&B directly with the hotel. Hope that's helpful. As a reminder, it remains a great hotel in a great location - which is why we've stayed several times before. May need to reconsider future occasions though."
