"Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return."

"I had the bed, breakfast and dinner option, although there was a reduced menu for the option there was still a good selection, all of the food including the breakfast was fantastic. The room was a good size but the outdated and damaged furniture let it down slightly. The evening bar staff were above and beyond in the level of service i received. Will definitely stay here again"

"Spacious off-street parking behind the hotel. A warm welcome and efficient staff. Clean, neat room and ensuite. Lots of hot water, soft towels. Comfortable bed. Nicely cooked breakfast with excellent eggs, bacon and toast, coffee and juice (other options available). Staff deserve a special commendation - there was an unexpected power cut in that part of town in the morning, but they managed to serve an excellent hot breakfast with no fuss or delays. Thank you!"

The most central location you could have in Newport - the bus garage was right next door which took us to all the tourist locations that I would recommend - the needles, shanklin beach, carisbrook castle and the garlic farm. The guesthouse also has an excellent Thai restaurant downstairs, great food, really delicious and great price. Charterhouse is located right next to the main high street stores as well as a large Morrisons. The proprietar was really nice. The place has just...

"The room was clean, with modern/quirky tech features. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, providing a place to store our luggage after the check out time. The hotel is in a good location for the Redjet passenger ferry and the high street with bars and restaurants. It is also located a few mins walk from the taxi rank and bus stop that has connections to Newport."

"We had a beach view room which was spacious and had an absolutely stunning view over the beach and cliffs over a distance. We came to the island for my son’s fossil hunting. He’s 9. We listened to the high tides at night, absolutely worth it. Even with the window open, it’s still warm during the day in the winter. Will revisit. "
