"A very lovely, friendly and comfortable hotel. Staff were super friendly. Restaurant food was great. À la carte breakfast was also very good but there was no fruit offered which I was disappointed with. Times were also a little tight from breakfast, dinner, room cleaning and checkout but it was a small hotel so this is understandable. I would definitely stay here again. Thankyou."

"Great place, a very old property that needs serious money spent on it. The gardens are beautifully maintained. We had two breakfasts and an evening meal, the restaurant was like a geriatric ward, I'm 67 and I reckon I was the youngest there, luckily the staff are (I'm sure) trained in caring for the elderly It's not as grand as you might think"

"The hotel itself is looking a bit tired but our room was spotless and clean. The staff were so lovely and helpful. The buffet breakfast was hot and tasty. The location is amazing. Fantastic place to stay if u don't want to spend loads of time in the hotel."

"Room too hot. I booked with twin beds, but the room was with double bed! The receptionist asked us at 22pm if we want another room. Only a fan in the room, couldn’t sleep much as it was too hot during the night. The room was near the main hallway door, so other visitors were going g up and down making noise going through that door all night. Also noises of people waking on the next floor, our room ceiling was trembling from time to time during the night. First time in this hotel, no room view,...

"I realise that ‘bog standard’ will never be a descriptor for a caravan, but superior is way too kind. Thankfully only 2 of us were staying in a 6 berth, because bedroom 3 is ludicrous. It seemed clean until I found someone else’s razor in the shower. The caravan’s are piled in very close to each other, meaning not only can you not park next to it, you can’t park anywhere near it and ours had a complete staircase to navigate due to the terracing. "Nice location. Great breakfast. Comfy lounge bar area. Friendly enough staff. But thebroom....I know it was 27c, we was on the top floor and the room was like a sweat box even with the fan they provided. The window had a safety lock so only opened about 4 inches. It seem like a converted loft to make more space. May have been better on the lower floors? Sorry but didn't sleep well here. .aybe move the safety locks so more fresh air can come in or air condition the top floor is needed?"

"The Fig Tree Hotel was set near to popular coastal amenities and the old Shanklin village with its thanked cottage charm. A conveniently central position for beach and countryside, betwixt Carisbrooke Castle and Osbourne House. My room and facilities were of a good standard and breakfast, which was hearty, set the day off well. Thank you Staff at Fig Tree. PW"

"A very well run hotel with most aspect being excellent. Clean, comfortable room, decent crockery and consistent food quality. Very few negatives but the stairs carpet could have seen service in Pompeii, it was that old and seemingly dirty. A lift would be nice in a 5 story hotel but may be difficult given the age and design of the building. Overall, a lovely stay"

"The cottage needed extra cleaning when we arrived, but staff were fantastic to try and help. Some of the furniture was tired for a cottage claiming to be a luxury accommodation. But the hot tub, pool, staff and colwell bay made the trip lovely."
