"The parador is unique, being a restored former monastery. There are two distinct parts to the hotel, one modern building attached to the older monastery. When we stayed there were very few people and it was like being in a ‘stately’ home all by ourselves. There were antiques in the halls and a long library to sit in and contemplate. There are archaeological excavations still happening and you feel part of history in the making. The geographical situation of the parador is excellent being just outside cangas de onis and in the foothills of the picos."

"Walls are thin and transmit every sound. On the first floor there was noise from the restaurant all night long. No coffee maker or water in the room. If you enter from the parking lot on arrival you will need to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. It is located close to most places in town with short distance walks. "

"I genuinely don’t know where to begin. We arrived at the hotel we had specifically booked — chosen for its location and suitability for travelling with dogs — only to be told on arrival that it was closed. Not cancelled in advance. Not communicated beforehand. Just closed. We were then redirected to a completely different hotel 15 minutes away by car. The alternative property was in an entirely different area — busy street, heavy pedestrian traffic, children everywhere — and absolutely not appropriate for dogs. We had booked carefully. That care was made irrelevant. To add to this, the pet fee at the new hotel was double what we had agreed to at the original property. We paid it because we had no real option at that point, but it felt unfair given the relocation was not our choice. The room itself was visually very nice. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The hotel was advertised as having air conditioning, but the system had a minimum setting of 24.9°C. That isn’t cooling — that’s ambient summer air. The room was stifling. We were moved three separate times before finally being given a room with a window we could open just to make it breathable. Then the internet didn’t work. What should have been a straightforward stay became an exhausting sequence of problems: wrong hotel, wrong location, higher fees, unusable air conditioning, non-functioning WiFi, multiple room changes. A pretty room cannot compensate for a complete breakdown in communication. "

"Puebloastur is truly a hidden luxury sanctuary. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the most breathtaking views in Asturias. It’s the kind of scenery that instantly calms you and makes you feel a world away. Waking up to those panoramic mountain views was unforgettable. We also loved the scenic drives and stunning hiking spots. It made exploring the region effortless and fun. The staff were warm, attentive, and made every moment feel special. Restaurant was incredible with unforgettable views! Can’t wait to go back! "

"We were 4 friends on a motorcycle trip through the Picos. This place looked amazing in the photos so we booked it. It was amazing when we got there. Situated in a quiet town overlooking the mountains, the place was beautifully kept, the staff were great, the food was very good, and the fact that our command of Spanish was very poor didn't stop us from having a great overnight stay. We didn't use the spa so can't comment other than it looked very nice."
