We had a great stay at El Misti. Our room was small but very nice, clean, comfortable with bathroom ensuite. The hostel is centrally located with lots of dining, shopping options all around and 1 block from the beach. Perfect location ! The bar had vegetarian options that were delicious. It's a party Hostel. Very fun and stimulating. Not a zen one if you're searching for calm relax stay.

My stay at El Misti was superb!! I stayed in a private room during 7-13 November. It was my first time in Rio, and this was the perfect place to meet people!! They organise lots of events, and having easy access to the beach with a ticket for a free chair is an addes bonus! I can definitely recommend El Misti to others, and will likely stay here (or at least visit the amazing bar during happy hour!!) when I return, muito obrigado El Misti!! Tom

Pros: Amazing staff at this property! Very friendly and always up for some fun! Also they all speak some level of English which was nice. It’s more of a party hostel than a chill and work hostel. Also they have a bar and restaurant attached to the property which is convenient. The area is awesome. Ipanema seems to attract young and friendly folks from all over. Cons: the shower had zero water pressure, the restaurant isn’t always open and some of the other guests don’t respect specific quiet time which they have posted outside the rooms. All in all I would DEFINITELY come back for a party or two.

I enjoyed my stay here very much. All the staff are very helpful and great at their job. There are so many activities planned by the hostel and if you wish not to do any, staff are more than willing to provide suggestions. The WhatsApp group was super helpful to keep up with activities. The room had everything I needed and it was so close to so many shops and the beach. I would recommend staying at El Misti especially if you’re a solo travel.

What makes it stand out is the staff and how they try to have everyone be engaged, they have multiple events a day and is very sociable! The location is also great as it’s a 3 minute walk to Ipanema beach!

I had a great stay at El Misti Hostel Ipanema. The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to the beach, with plenty of places nearby to rent chairs, grab food, have drinks, or shop. The hostel itself has security at all times, which made me feel safe during my stay. It also has a very social atmosphere, so it’s super easy to meet new people. One thing that really stood out was how clean everything was. The cleaners come in twice a day to tidy the rooms and bathrooms, so the space is always fresh and well maintained. The reception staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it can get quite loud late at night since the street outside stays busy, and the windows are a bit thin—so definitely bring earplugs. It’s also a bit more expensive than some other hostels, but honestly, the comfort, cleanliness, and convenience make it worth the price. Overall, highly recommended!

O Hostel é muito bem localizado a 1 quadra da praia e metrô tem diversos barzinhos e restaurantes por perto e pra quem viaja solo é uma ótima opção pois o hostel dispõe de várias atividades em grupo então dá pra conhecer gente de todo o mundo tive uma experiência incrível.

Viagem de negócios

Eu quase nunca deixo avaliações, mas precisei deixar aqui pro El Misti. Fui pro RJ a negócios e pela primeira vez decidi ficar sozinha no hostel, em um quarto privativo, ao invés de um hotel para não ficar tão solitária, pois só tinha um dia na cidade. Desde antes da minha chegada já fui muito bem atendida pelo WhatsApp, deixei claro que estava atrasada pra uma reunião e que precisaria deixar minha mala correndo. Quando cheguei todos já estavam prontos pra me ajudar com sorriso no rosto e maior alto astral. Tudo que precisei foi atendido prontamente. Fui em uma aula de yoga com o grupo de lá, conheci várias pessoas, troquei altas ideias com as meninas da recepção, tudo isso em 24h. Quero voltar em um outro momento para ficar mais tempo e aproveitar tudo que o lugar tem pra oferecer. Nunca tinha ficado em um hostel em uma viagem de negócios, mas definitivamente o El Misti virou meu local favorito. Super recomendo.

Estadia boa, mas precisa de alguns ajustes

O atendimento da recepção é incrível, são educados e super animados. Eles fazem a diferença. O Eric e as meninas são muito queridos e prestativos. Mas o atendimento do bar precisa melhorar e muito! O atendimento não é legal, pedi um suco para um dos meninos que trabalha no bar e ele simplesmente ignorou o meu pedido. Estou até agora esperando o suco!
