"I love Hotel Edison.I always stay her when visiting NYC. Jahaida at check-in was so welcoming and accommodating. Our only complaint was there is no lock on the bathroom door in the Family Suite in which we stayed and the shower leaked terribly. We had to create a system so we knew it was occupied then put towels on the floor to soak up the escaping water.
I will continue to stay here perhaps not room 1426"
"This was the second time we stayed at Hotel St. James within the past year. Both times there was little to no hot water. Each shower was lukewarm at best. Whether the showers were in the morning or afternoon, we’ve never had a hot shower there. "
"The staff was good. Breakfast was unusually expensive for what was served. Clean room with no amenities that compels one to overspend for basics coffee tea and the like"
"The staff were all wonderful -- helpful, friendly, and efficient! This is a great location, within walking distance of many things and kitty corner from Carnegie Hall. The bathroom had a nice big tub, and the room didn't feel as tiny as other NYC hotel rooms. My only complaint is that this is an older hotel and feels very dated and worn out. My room was so "old" feeling that it had a bit of the "ick" factor. Also, when I got to my room, the windows were wide open (in March's colder weather). I was on the 6th floor, and it just felt strange. I was just there for a night so it felt tolerable, but this is not a "luxury" hotel, even though the building itself is very impressive!"
"Convenient location for travelers visiting Manhattan NY. Easy to navigate around Time Square and other places in the city. The hotel is well above expectations "
"The absolute best location. Feels like a little hideaway for when you need to rest a bit before heading back out to explore NYC. The room, the bed, the shower all more than comfortable and clean. I can't sleep much in New York because the energy is too powerful. But I prefer this section of Times Square to the main part. Slightly more lowkey, less people, but still very much alive and colorful with tons of spots to visit. Walked right across the street to Junior's, it wasn't ever slammed, just steady. Walked like 5 minutes or less to see my show at the Winter Garden. I traveled alone and it feels like a safe place too. More than one entrance on side streets and security always posted up at the entry. CVS right there. Everything you could ever imagine right around the corner or within reasonable walking distance. "
