Overall a great place. Nice clean and modern. Fantastic location in the downtown area. Had a nice little kitchen space and great small fridge. Shower was the best I've ever had. Tons of water and pressure. Downsides are it can be a little noisy. Never got any air flow to cool the room down some. It's small.

Unfortunately, it seems that all hotels are pricey in Iceland. This one is no exception. However, the property is lovely, spacious, nicely appointed and in a perfect location. The only inconvenience was the noise on the street which prevented us from keeping the window open all night.

Loved the property! The building has an interesting history - it used to be a school and they converted it to gorgeous apartments that are spacious and well appointed. The hallways are filled with paintings - many by a noteworthy Icelandic artist. There are vast book cases as well; I came across some art history books about the painter which is how I knew he was a noteworthy figure in the art world. There’s is a small cafe/wine bar on the lower level and a hot tub and sauna on the property - all lovely bonuses. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the properties in a very serene location. I would highly recommend this gem!

Overall this was a great little apartment and I would recommend it if you want to be right downtown Reykjavik. Important things to note: - The apartment we stayed in was on the STREET side of the building, therefore it can be pretty noisy at times. If you are looking for a quieter accommodation I would clarify with the host that your apartment will be other the other side of the building. - There is no front desk or concierge. All communication about check in and out is done via email (which we had no issues with at all). - You have to enter a code to enter the building, then again to enter your floor and finally to enter your apartment. This made us feel pretty safe. - There is no onsite parking. You will have to find street parking. The hotel boarders on P1 and P2 zones for parking (using the parka app). P1 is the most expensive zone so try and park in P2 if you can to save some money. We never had an issues finding parking in the area. - There is a grocery store (called Bónus) about 5 minute walk from the apartments. This was helpful to get food to save money from having to eat out every meal (Iceland is very expensive!)

The room was spotless! It is a legit studio apartment complete with an induction stove, microwave, and fridge - which made meal prep super easy on nights we chose not to eat out or got back late from a tour (there's a supermarket and a couple of bodegas within walking distance). Our room faced the street which was no problem, the blackout curtain provided enough privacy, and the self serve method for sheets, towels, and coffee was perfect for a couple staying for five days. Highly recommend the Vintage Apartment Hotel!

The Vintage Apartment Hotel is an excellent choice for anyone looking to stay in the heart of Reykjavík while enjoying more space and flexibility than a traditional hotel room. The apartments are comfortable, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed. Having a kitchenette and separate living space makes a noticeable difference, especially after a long day exploring Iceland’s waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, and coastal scenery. It provides a welcome opportunity to relax and recharge before the next adventure. One of the hotel’s standout features is its location. Situated just off Reykjavík’s main shopping and dining district, it places many of the city’s most popular attractions within easy walking distance, including Hallgrímskirkja, Harpa, the Old Harbor, countless cafés, restaurants, and bakeries. Another appreciated touch is the complimentary premium coffee available on the first floor. It’s the perfect way to start a day in Iceland, whether you’re heading to the Golden Circle or simply wandering Reykjavík’s charming streets. The building is clean, secure, and remarkably quiet considering its downtown location. My favorite feature, however, was the wonderfully substantial automatic entrance door. It feels less like a hotel entrance and more like a portal connecting two worlds. One moment you’re enjoying the calm comfort of the hotel, and seconds later the door glides open and deposits you directly onto Reykjavík’s lively main street, surrounded by cafés and shops.

The location is amazing in the middle of the shopping, dining, supermarkets, bus stops etc. Room is not large but has everything one needs. Loved the kitchenette, access to coffee, towels, and kitchen needs. Room was clean, modern and includes a small dining table. We enjoyed the bar downstairs when it was open. Hope we can afford this place if we ever to Iceland!

Fabulous location within easy walking distance to main attractions, cafes and restaurants. We requested one of the quieter rooms after a long flight and we were obliged with one - thank you! The bed was roomy and very comfortable, the shower was hot, and the coffee was great. Staff were quick to respond to messages and check-in was straightforward.
