The stay was lovely, there are no staff on site to check in but the directions were easy to follow.
Our room was great, bed was comfortable! Could hear people walking in the room above us.
Breakfast was nice. The hottub wasn't hot.
Nice house and good breakfast. Checking in went very smooth because we did receive a code to retrieve the while in advance of the check-in time. Sort of odd not having any interaction with his workers at the hotel but everything went very smooth.
The hotel provided key code and room assignment in advance. The breakfast was a huge surprise, Bacon, potato cakes (hash brown), coffee, this was a huge positive.
The only real negative, the "hot tub". We never went in because the hot tub felt warm by touch and the air pump did not work.
All the needs for a place to stay, were met, and we would recommend booking.
An amazing stay! The property itself is surrounded by mountains, that adds to the location!
The common area / patio is where we spent our evening where a few other guests were hanging out as well. The set up was amazing and we enjoyed hanging out there.
There is also a hot tub in the vicinity that can be enjoyed based on availability.
The room was spacious enough with a big bathroom. We went in Sept and the ventilation can be a bit tricky as the heater was making our room too hot.
There is no staff here, you can access your keys from
Nice simple place clean. Room 203 is more spacious. Another guest said their room was a bit tight.
We enjoyed the place, breakfast and close to our ring road adventures!
The hotel was very clean. Our room was quiet. Really nice shower.
The breakfast was very good - lots of variety. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
First of all the room smelled like a sewage plant. Unfortunately we were there two nights.
The staff was nowhere to found and contacting them was impossible.
To top things off the hot tub was broken and not hot what so ever.
Disregard the naysayers' reviews as we had no problem checking ourselves in. While we were the first guests to arrive (which made us a bit nervous pulling into an empty parking lot), the hotel was completely full by nightfall. The breakfast set-up and logistics are a bit questionable, but the food was good and we enjoyed visiting with other guests. The room was spacious and comfortable, the scenery was amazing, and there are two amazing waterfalls - each about five minutes from the hotel - one in each direction.
It was not as described. We were given an upstairss room, stairs only, no elevator. I’m handicapped, I am unable to climb stairs. I called the hotel contact number, as there is no one on site; it was self check-in. The female representative of the hotel told me she would cancel our reservation with an apology for a lack of notice and information and refund our money. I still have not received my money back in spite of numerous calls by Expedia, myself as well as an email summarizing this issue, close to $300 and we had to pay for another hotel nearby. Ultimately a large price for one night for a couple on a limited fixed retirement!!
This hotel is breathtaking! I didn’t want to leave. Our room was excellent, and breakfast was by far the best I had in Iceland. I will definitely be staying here again if I ever go back to Iceland!
Superior room was a great size with a comfy bed. Hot tub was a nice addition. Some nice snacks and drinks available day around, and breakfast was reasonable! Lovely feeling to the place, authentic and unique!
This place had so many bad reviews that I was terrified before staying here but it was totally fine! Exactly as described.
You can’t check in late and you get a code via email. I imagine some people run into trouble with that but we had no issues. It was very easy.
The rooms were clean and nice. The area is scenic and the hot tub is relaxing.
Set in a gorgeous location, hotel Lambafell feels like a wooden ski lodge! The rooms were very clean and it had really good amenities. An excellent breakfast was included too. Thank you for the stay!
