"Kellie was truly welcoming and accommodating, giving us a tour around the place when we arrived. Such a lovely and unique stay, and it was an added bonus that we were able to go foraging for fresh macadamia nuts in the yard! Truly like paradise. The location is also a great place for stargazing at night. Thank you again, Kellie!"

"Very easy access to Volcano National Park. Cozy rooms- ours had a gas fireplace which was amazing after getting soaked on a hike! Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant was probably the biggest surprise. The complimentary breakfast was delicious but the dinner was outstanding. The new chef prepared a fresh catch dish (Mahi Mahi) that was better than any meal we had in our Waikoloa resort or in Kona. Delicious wine selection. The dining room is beautiful with a roaring wood fire on a historic stone fireplace. After “roughing it” all day in the park - this was a wonderful treat! We definitely recommend. "
"The location with the views of the ocean are amazing along with the pool and hot tub. You have a 1 hour window to check in and if you miss it you have to be there at 8am the next morning. If you want an early start you need to wait until 8."
"Parking was easy, but my room was a bit dirty upon arrival with spider webs and literal dust on things. There was a dehumidifier but it was empty and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. They were supposed to come pick up my registration so I thought they'd fix the humidifier then (80% humidity in the room) but no one ever came. The free amenities they have in the guest supply is just one very bad shampoo and a little bar soap (which was okay). The kitchen is very minimal and has nothing to label your items with.
I never came across another guest in the property, but I know they were there because doors would open/closer.
Very great location, but there are many many options in this town where you may get better amenities with an actual host that would prepare and care for your room"
"This property is midway between Volcano and Kona off of Rt 11. It has beautiful grounds and the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It’s fairly remote so you must drive to whatever you need. The room was spacious and clean. There’s no air conditioning and it was uncomfortably humid in the room. The shower is very narrow and the bathroom is up 3 steps in the room. Morning coffee didn’t offer much in terms of milk or cream, just flavored containers of half/half. However, there’s a great bakery in town for espresso coffee and treats."
"It was advertised as a charming room with a view of a Japanese garden and koi pond. We found it no better than a low budget motel with a poorly maintained pond and a dead fish floating in it. The "kitchen" was adequate with a small counter set much too high, a tiny coffee maker, microwave and a mini fridge. There was an ice tray provided in the refrigerator but was useless because it leaked through multiple cracks. The shower also had a large buildup of hair in the drain cover."
"We adored the little rainbow falls rainforest cabin. We have been travelling for about two weeks and it was time for a short retreat before continuing our adventure in the Hawaiian islands. Luckily for us, the volcano erupted, and we got to sit on the front porch listening to the rumble in the distance after having seen the start of the eruption that morning at the rim restaurant before they evacuated everyone."
