I stayed at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta in July 2025 for 3 nights with my family in an ocean view room. The beach was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and the view from our room was definitely the highlight of our stay.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The food buffet was a letdown — tables were sticky, and I recorded a video showing mosquitos swarming uncovered fruit that no one bothered to replace. Cleanliness and food safety were clearly neglected. At the outdoor poke station, only one overwhelmed staff member was preparing bowls for over 10 people. I waited more than 25 minutes for a small bowl while he struggled to keep up — doing his best, but clearly understaffed.
We also tried to get a drink at the pool bar, but again, only one person was working — preparing drinks not just for the general guests but also for those in the paid cabanas. After waiting 20 minutes without being served, we gave up and walked away.
I mostly stayed on the beach, which was relaxing, so I didn’t use the pools much. However, I did report my concerns about cleanliness to the staff, and while they said someone would follow up, no one ever did.
Given the service issues and overall lack of management, I don't feel the experience was worth the price. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this resort based on my stay.
