"Location is ok. The hotel is located on a beautiful property with gorgeous, well maintained garden. The room was ample and charming with beautiful large windows looking onto the lovely parking area which is quite large. However entering the premises is difficult due to the fact that the gate is extremely narrow to maneuver the car in. There is no air conditioner or ceiling fan, just a floor fan. "The accommodation was clean and comfortable with a very welcome ceiling fan cooling the temperature. We were arriving late (then my flight was delayed further) and were asked to check in online before 11.00pm but this was complicated and wouldn't work for me. But all was well and there was someone on duty at reception to check us in. Helpful and friendly reception staff. Good location - easy walk into town/waterfront and plenty of buses nearby. "I was surprised to see there was no kettle with complimentary teabags in the room, which I’d expect in a 4 star hotel. Having stayed in other 4 star hotels in Spain, Italy and Switzerland recently, where there were teabags and a kettle, I was disappointed after arriving late at night and not being able make myself a drink.

"The Citrea is a lovely hotel in Santander. A short walk from the Modern Art Museum (not the Botin Centre) and the town hall and the bus station, through the tunnel.
Having been to Santander we knew this wasn't far so no issues.
The room was cozy, but had plenty of storage cupboards. The air conditioning was absolutely needed in the heat of the summer, would go again just for this.
The staff were fantastic, supporting us with every ask and arranged a late checkout on our departure day."

"Dated interior and overpriced for what it is. Paid $250 EUR and was assigned an interior facing room with windows that faced the public corridor / elevator waiting area. Should have been half the price. Worse hotel of the trip in the price range across Madrid, San Sebastian, and Santander. Would recommend looking elsewhere."
