We loved our stay in Porto here. It is right near the river walk but not very noisy. The hotel has a lot of character while being modern. The rooftop pool and lounge area is lovely with a view of the river.

This is an excellent boutique hotel! Close to all the interesting sights and restaurants in Porto. The room was comfortable and big, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the amenities were excellent! There was a restaurant on site for breakfast and a nice pool area to relax in. Will definitely come back here!

We stayed here early August and had the best time, the hotel is lovely and in a good location close to many restaurants and is right next to the river which is nice. Worth noting that as you are by the river everything else is an uphill walk but Ubers are cheap if that is a problem. Would recommend if you want a nice boutique place to stay in a cool city!

It was a very nice hotel, room was really good. And they had a nice little swimming pool on the roof. Unfortnatly the bar was closed, we fixed that by buying some water and chips and took the port from our room.👌

Very Nice Stay

Great location, near to all the sites. On the river, bike hire next door which was useful. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Nice big comfortable bed. Perfect for a weekend couple break.

This place is amazing. Nice old European vibe with a very modern, clean atmosphere. I would absolutely stay again. Everything is in walking distance and the staff were so nice and accommodating. Only one thing I would change is the bathroom sink was automatic and shut off too easily when trying to brush my teeth or wash my face. But that is it and it would not keep me from coming back. Wonderful place!!

Don’t waste your money

Would really not recommend this place. Got the wrong room upon check-in (worse, with no balcony), and a “15% discount for the hassle”, though that’s not a discount, that’s just paying for the less nice room! The room we then got was the only room on the floor, next to the cleaning station, meaning we’d hear the cleaning staff early in the morning, singing with their trolleys (super cute, just not a 6am on a vacation). The room was nice, though not done… no coat hangers, no towel rack, no closet (only some small drawers and 5 hangers), no charging by the bed, coffee machine was out of order and there was visible mold in the bathroom. The pool area was poorly maintained; chairs and tables were very dusty, no sun beds, etc. The pool bar looked nice, though closed at all times, even though it was around 30 degrees most days of our 5 night stay. In all fairness, the staff really did try their best to accommodate a nice stay, it just appeared the hands were tied in many ways, by management.

Good Location-Decent Value

Getting to this hotel just using maps was a bit difficult, being unfamiliar with the city. I wish there had been some sort of instructions to help navigate the very narrow and hilly Porto streets. The setup in the hotel is unconventional, with us having to take 2 elevators to get to our room, which was a bit inconvenient. The room was good, great condition very clean with a nice bathroom. Our heat had troubles so we were a bit cold for the first night. There is no parking so had to park across the street for 80 euros for 3 days. Staff was accommodating.

Overall, my husband and I had a terrific stay at Porta Cobra, 6 days in total in beginning of August. + Nice location + Extremely friendly reception staff + Great large apartments with a nice kitchen and large bathroom + Perfect cleaning every day + Beautiful view (rooms with city view) + Nice small pool area In general we felt very welcome and appreciated and we will definitely recommend the hotel, but we will also mention a few points for improvement: – Although the rooms are protected from street noise, they are very noisy towards the hallway and every day we were woken up by other residents or the cleaning service team passing the apartment. – We experienced quite a bad smell from the drain in the bathroom. – Air conditioning was impossible to fine-tune (either max cold or we had to turn it off – not ideal in the summer heat) – The elderly gentleman who managed the pool area was initially very hostile and was telling us off like little children when we just arrived: In all calmness we tried to turn two free-standing sun beds so they faced the sun. When he noticed, he immediately rushed towards us, waving his hands dramatically and gave us a proper scolding as if we were ravaging the place. (FYI. We are a calm couple in our early thirties so it was very uncalled for.... and in totalt contrast to the attitude from the rest of the staff).

Porta Nobre is firstly in a fantastic location, right by the riverside, close to lots of bars and restaurants. The finish and decor are high quality, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The addition of a pool and pool area was most welcome and gave an added dimension.
