"Hotel is just on the outskirts of the town centre, making it easy to get to, and easy walking distance from most areas. Directly across from Drakes Circus shopping centre. Parking in the nearby car park is useful and cheap for 24 hours. The lift in the car park seems to be permanently out of order, so we walked up/down the entrance ramp with our suitcases, which was much easier than climbing the stairs - one to consider if you have mobility issues. Reception staff were all friendly, and we were upgraded to an Exec suite which was a nice surprise. I checked in online the day before, which seemed to speed things up a bit, but it wasn't very busy when we arrived, so this may be different at peak check in time. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There was some noise from the streets at the back of the hotel, but you only heard it if you had the window open. The bathroom is a bit dated, but is functional and clean. We've stayed here several times, and would definitely stay again. It's usually one of the cheaper options, and works well for us. "

"The apartment was really lovely and as described and perfect for our birthday celebration. Unfortunately, when we arrived there was a lot of broken glass all over the balcony which we didn’t realise until we stepped on it barefoot. We couldn’t find the outside bins as they were not where described. The access to the property in the evening was stressful as it is located in a very busy bar area which had people queued up to get. Security wouldn’t let us in to get to the apartment and we had to queue up. I wouldn’t recommend staying here with children due to the access in the evenings."

"Everything was wonderful, from the staff to the room. The pool, gym, and sauna were excellent. The breakfast was all fresh and the view was lovely."

"The location of the hotel is good, close to city centre, railway station and The Barbican. Car parking is good and reasonable price. Reception is very welcoming and staff very helpful. Our double room seemed a little dated in furniture and underneath the desk were a lot of biscuit crumbs which then makes you think the room wasn’t cleaned properly. Reported to reception and they dealt with problem immediately. Bathroom also very dated and basic. Comfortable bed. Unfortunately the windows were of a poor quality and they rattled constantly through the night due to windy conditions. We didn’t eat at the hotel but the bar was very comfortable and welcoming. Overall disappointing but willing to stay again if standard of room could be improved."

"Unfortunately, we were moved to their sister hotel named ‘The Drake Hotel’ due to no room available. But the Drake Hotel’ staff were amazing, very helpful with our little dog, set up private breakfast area and oh yeah the breakfast was delicious too."

"The hotel was exactly as described in photos. Clean, classy and very good value for money. We couldn’t hear any guests within property. Shower was powerful and nice and bathroom was clean. Bed comfortable, duvet thick but airy which was the perfect combo. Outside space from the room was well presents and clean. No bad smell and easy check in. Only thing I would critique is we couldn’t open window wide enough for our personal choice and could do with curtains as well blinds as that morning sun hit hard. But as whole I would absolutely recommend and return for a visit. Great stay."
