My friends and I were impressed with the rooms at Hotel Lyra. Comfortable beds, large rooms, large shower. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet that was included with the room, and also at dinner at the restaurant our first night which was decent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a 25 minute drive to entrance 2 of Plitvice.

The beds are very hard. Warning to thos with back pain! But very good breakfast. We were there in October, so th pool was not a question. But many insects in the room on the Western/sunset side of the building - we killed more than 30 and they have a bad smell. Since the air conditoning was off in October the room on the sunset side was very hot, and we could not open the balcony door becuse of insect invasion. So the receptionist gave us another room, on the other side of the building - with almost no insects.

The hotel has a great location for a family trip to the Plitvice Lakes - about a 15 minute drive from entrance 2. Everything seemed to be quite new, and the breakfast and dinner were very enjoyable, as the food was fine and the staff was very friendly. The room was large and cozy with a sizeable bathroom. Overall a great hotel.

Modern, stylish hotel 20 minutes from Platvice

We stayed here because it’s close to Platvice. I would recommend this hotel as its clean, modern, quiet, and free parking. Breakfast was an amazing buffet with lots of healthy choices like fresh fruits and vegan friendly. Staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. Only con was that bed was way too firm for us.

The lighting in that place is atrocious. Why in the world they think dim lights are necessary is beyond me. The restaurant was clean, the staff was so so. They were unable to speak Croatian, and their English was mediocre at best. The food was OK, but the refrigeration in the room did not work, and I ended up having to toss $600 worth of medication.

Booked hotel month ahead but was informed only one week ahead that the hotel is not opened and we were referred to a guest house Zinkra in Plitvice Lake area. Fortunately, Zinkra turned out to be fantastic and our one night stay was simply perfect. Host Zinkra and her daughter Barbara were amazing hosts ！
